I see myself as a navigator. You are the captain. You decide where you want to go. I may have a few good maps to help you get there. It's your boat. You decide how fast or slow. Let me help you build a sturdy ship. So that no matter what stormy seas you find yourself in, you know how to rely on the resources within you. And around you. And how to keep them strong. We are indeed complex creatures. We need to stay in touch by learning about the many ways to find peace and understanding about what things mean. And what we can do about it. And you don't have to do it alone. I'll walk with you.

As a licensed Professional Counselor I deal with many different types of issues during therapy including; Marriage Counseling, Family Therapy, Grief, Trauma, Anxiety, Phobias, Depression, Sexual Addictions, ADHD, Anger Management, and those struggling from all types of Childhood Abuse. I believe most of us have past hurts and traumas that affect who we are, how we do life, why we believe what we believe, think what we think, say what we say, and do what we do. In fact, past issues cause many to internalize False Beliefs about themselves such as; I’m not good enough, I’m worthless, I’m defective, I’m bad, Unlovable, Stupid, etc…

I’m a counselor who knows what it’s like to struggle and feel stuck. I’ve faced many of my own challenges—things like grief, career loss, relationship issues, perfectionism, depression, and anxiety—and that life experience helps me in the counseling room: not only does it help me understand and connect with people; it also helps me talk with folks in real, relatable ways. I counsel adults and teens (15+), offer individual and partnered counseling, affirm all folks (LGBTQIA2S+, CNM, and all genders welcome!), and help people with grief, depression, anxiety, sex and relational issues, suicidal ideation, low self-esteem, and more.

I help individuals, couples, and co-parents facing ongoing conflict, communication breakdowns, and major life transitions. Many feel stuck in repeated arguments, high-conflict co-parenting, or relationships that seem to be getting worse instead of better. I help identify the patterns driving these interactions and provide practical tools to improve emotional regulation, communication, and decision-making so clients can move toward more stable, workable relationships.

The greatest journey we can take in life is one of enlightenment and awareness. The ideal client is one who is on the path to discovering the real you. The problem with life is that we exist in a society that is full of stress, anxiety, and many more life challenges that seem to stifle the beauty that’s found all around us and within us. Much of life then, is learning to pull back the layers that keep us trapped from reaching our full potential. Brandon utilizes a bottom up approach to holistic therapy that is designed to treat the whole person.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.
How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.
Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
