My main goal is to help someone wherever they are, without judgment, and get them to where they want to go. Sometimes we have trouble with what we have done, what has been done to us, or a combination of both which can be hard to overcome. I will listen and walk with you through whatever you are going through until we step out of the fog, and into a different future.

I treat individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma using a variety of therapeutic tools including Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR.
I have over 20 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families achieve their therapy goals. My personal therapeutic philosophy is that emotional healing takes place when you address the well-being of the whole person - Mind, Body, and Soul. There is nothing better than seeing an individual caught in the grip of anxiety and depression, find lasting relief; or a couple on the brink of divorce transform into a healthy, loving relationship; or someone finding peace and healing from lifelong childhood-trauma.

I use CBT, EMDR, and practical coping tools to help you understand what is happening and what to do next.
You might be the kind of person who holds everything together on the outside but feels worn out on the inside. Maybe anxiety, grief, or past experiences keep looping in your mind, or you are a parent watching your child or teen struggle and not knowing how to help. You want more than just venting; you want someone calm, steady, and practical who can help you understand what is going on and what to do next. You are hoping for clear tools, honest feedback, and a place where your values and beliefs are respected, not argued with. Most of all, you want life to feel more manageable again, for you or for your child.

You’re constantly procrastinating and feel dread about even the little things because it’s all too much. You feel like you are failing at everything, when, in fact, you’re killing it. You spend your time doing everything for everyone else, while neglecting yourself and never feeling like you have done enough. You worry that the plates in the air will fall, and everyone will realize you are incapable and incompetent. It feels like a hard life is your destiny because of the trauma in your past. You want to break the cycle of that generational trauma, but you don’t know where to start. Sound familiar?

I specialize in helping adults understand and move through their emotions and past experiences with telehealth EMDR services to help individuals feel calm, confident, and connected.
Do you feel overwhelmed with life right now? Are you telling yourself that you aren't good enough? Do you keep beating yourself up or feel haunted by past experiences? We can often try to push those feelings to the side with scrolling or binge watching but it doesn't help us get out of the rut - sometimes we shame ourselves for trying to take a break and we feel worse. Therapy can help by giving you a space to look at some problems with curiosity rather than judgment. By tending to our emotions and experiences, we can actually unlock creative solutions for you to be kind to yourself and feel more confident, connected, and calm.

I enjoy serving children, adolescents, teenagers and adults and learning how I can best meet their needs. A goal of mine is to help clients reach their full potential as we know how life can bring about many struggles. Choosing to attend therapy and making yourself vulnerable to another person is not easy. I do my best to create a safe environment for anyone to share any struggle they may be experiencing.

I hold additional certifications in trauma-informed therapy (to include EMR/ EMDR) and am passionate about integrated/holistic health solutions.
My ideal client is someone impacted by trauma, chronic stress, or a major life transition who is seeking support in a safe, respectful space. They may be experiencing emotional and/or mental distress, patterns that no longer serve them, effects of past trauma, substance use concerns, or relationship challenges—often after years of living in survival mode. They want to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. Together, we focus on building stability, strengthening emotional regulation, and creating meaningful, lasting change so they can move forward with greater confidence, balance, and a renewed sense of control.

I am trained in TF-CBT and EMDR.
I believe empathy and building a positive, therapeutic relationship with a client is so important. We all have struggles. Most of us have some history of trauma in our childhood, and in some cases adult-hood. I’m here to help you navigate your way through that. I’m here to listen; I’m here to empathize. I’m also here to help you heal. I will meet you where you are at, but we will not stay there. I’m here to help empower you to face challenges in your life and to work through those challenges in a healthy and constructive way. It’s a process. And we will work through that process together.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
