An ideal client is one who understands that I do not make ANY promises and I am not the solution to the issues they may have. I, along with their help, will attempt to unravel things and attempt to produce more effective outcomes. Not every Therapist is a good fit for you and that's okay.

You might feel like you shut down, freeze, or get overwhelmed when emotions run high—especially in relationships or conflict. Maybe you replay conversations in your head afterward and wish you’d said something different. You might struggle to trust others, or even trust your own feelings. On the outside, you hold things together, but inside it feels exhausting, confusing, or lonely.

My life has been shaped by profound loss and trauma, and I understand firsthand how deeply these experiences can affect the human heart and mind. I survived sexual, emotional, and psychological abuse in childhood, endured years of depression and suicidal thoughts, and grew up in a deeply dysfunctional environment. By the age of 22, I had already experienced nearly two dozen significant deaths, along with two serious automobile accidents and the trauma of being trapped in a burning building. Living with complex PTSD has been part of my journey, and it has also shaped my deep empathy for those who carry unseen wounds.

Many of us believe we should have everything figured out, but it's normal to feel lost at times or struggle to understand ourselves. Maybe you long for meaning, authenticity, and connection, but often life feels like something you’re just pushing through. Moving forward requires deeply understanding ourselves, examining past wounds, challenging limiting beliefs, and even facing parts of ourselves we prefer to ignore. This journey is easier with a compassionate guide who offers non-judgmental support and curiosity, and who can help support you as you work through difficult emotions and patterns to build a life you enjoy.

(Accepting New Patients) I help people discover the blind spots, inner conflicts, and unconscious patterns that have secretly blocked their attempts to heal. Discovering these unconscious blocks allows us to create a flexible and personalized treatment plan to manage your symptoms and treat the underlying causes. Working with me feels similar to physical therapy: soothing at times and challenging at others, but ultimately, healing.

So while I tend to focus on sexual abuse, trauma, and spirituality, I am acutely aware of and trained to engage other issues that are never too far under the surface.
Life can feel overwhelming at times. Maybe you're stuck in patterns that once served you but now feel limiting, or you're facing challenges that demand something different from you. Taking that first step toward change takes real courage—and you don't have to take it alone. My aim is to walk alongside you as we discover new possibilities together, creating a space where you can explore what's next with someone who understands the complexity of being human.

Sexual Abuse Therapists
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
