I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). I believe that healing is a journey that already lives within each of us. Therapy, to me, is a collaborative process—one where the therapist walks alongside the client, offering guidance, support, and tools as they discover their own path toward wholeness. SE is a gentle, powerful approach developed by Dr. Peter Levine that helps the nervous system renegotiate trauma rather than relive it. It supports people of all ages.

Your stress, anger, and resentment have become more apparent than ever. Do you question your identity or struggle with self-doubt? Has your childhood trauma resurfaced to the point where you can no longer hide it? You may feel alone, as if no one understands. You love your kids, but at the end of the day, you're exhausted and are relieved when they go to bed. Then, you engage in habits that don't benefit you. As a parent or caregiver, it often seems like your sacrifices go unnoticed. Your partner might not seem supportive, or you may be raising children on your own. You just want to feel valued, supported, and loved.

Reaching out for help takes courage, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can create a safe space for understanding, healing, and moving forward at your own pace. I know how exhausting it can feel when anxiety keeps you up at night or when depression makes even the simplest tasks feel impossible. It’s hard to break free from the constant worry or the weight of emptiness, and it can feel like you're stuck in a cycle with no way out. But you don’t have to face this alone. Together, we can work through these feelings, uncover the root causes, and build a path toward relief and healing.

My experience and training are as follows: EMDR, EFT, Trauma, Geriatric Issues, Depression/Anxiety, Body Work.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who strongly believes in the benefits of therapy; I have practiced for 35 years, and participated in my own personal work which allows me to be a supportive witness and caring guide. It's important to have a therapist who continues to work on themselves. In our Western culture, listening is often someone waiting for the opportunity to share their own thoughts on what needs to be done. I will actively listen, honor you, and be a witness to your personal experiences. It's important you feel you are in a safe and compassionate environment.

When you spend your days carrying everyone else's weight, who holds yours? In my work with adults, I see firsthand how trauma, chronic stress, and burnout can quietly take over daily life. My practice is dedicated to supporting First Responders and "helpers"—anyone who spends their days carrying the weight of others. If you're ready to see what it’s like to safely put that weight down and have someone walk with you through the hard chapters, I’d love to connect. My approach is secular, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy, so we will always tailor our sessions to exactly what you need.

We don't always expect what life may throw in our direction. Sometimes, even what we would consider a positive change can stress or burden us in ways that make it difficult to feel like ourselves or function at our best. This can result in feeling depressed, anxious, hopeless about the future, or even paralyzed. Relationships change; death, major illness, or relationships ending can contribute to difficulty in living life the way we would like. I work best with individuals suffering from anxiety-related issues, regardless of gender, and those who are struggling with life transitions.

You are exhausted. You’ve been holding everything together— and at best, surviving— for so long that you don't always recognize yourself anymore. Life has left you overwhelmed, stuck, and wondering how much longer you can keep doing this. You desperately want something different, but part of you may even wonder if something different is even possible. I believe hope is more than a feeling. It’s a decision. Even now, in the middle of pain, overwhelm, and uncertainty, you can choose a new path— one that leads beyond mere survival toward a life you actually enjoy.

I am accepting New Clients at this time! I know today's world can be complex, and navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationships, and life transitions can be overwhelming at times. I get it. Life can feel heavy. Here is the thing, though: you do not need to go through these challenges alone. We can sort through it together. FAQ - About Therapy for Seniors
Is one ever too old for mental health therapy?
Individuals of all ages can benefit from mental health therapy. Indeed, older adults in particular may benefit from the social and psychological support a therapist can provide; the topics that older adults address in therapy may simply differ from those of younger clients. Seniors should seek out a therapist who has experience working with older individuals and who is well-versed in addressing common concerns among elderly individuals, such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and physical mobility challenges.

How is counseling for seniors and the elderly different from counseling for other age groups?
In general, counseling offers an opportunity for clients to process difficult life events and develop coping skills they can use outside of the therapy session. Therapists who specialize in working with elderly clients generally have the same framework but may place a special emphasis on specific topics, such as caregiver relationships and reducing loneliness. They may be specially equipped to deal with certain physical conditions or facilitate discussion surrounding end-of-life topics. Counseling for the elderly may also place a greater emphasis on social work-type topics to ensure that geriatric clients have access to necessary resources, such as food, a safe home environment, and healthcare.

How can therapy improve the quality of life of aging individuals?
Therapy for aging adults can greatly improve quality of life by providing an opportunity for them to process difficult emotions related to end-of-life, navigate relational or caregiver challenges, and develop coping skills for common mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression. Subsequent reductions in negative emotions and mental health disorder symptoms can make day-to-day living much more manageable for aging adults and those that care for them. The ongoing relationship with a trusted therapist can also help seniors combat loneliness and provide a sense of structure for their routine.

What are the qualities to look for in therapists who see seniors?
Seniors counselors, like mental health counselors in general, should be kind, empathetic, skilled at listening, and knowledgeable about their particular area of expertise. Counselors specializing in working with the senior population should be very familiar with the aging process in general and the common conditions that the elderly can face, such as dementia, depression, loneliness, and/or physical illness. Many senior counselors are also well-equipped to help caregivers and families navigate the aging process of their loved ones, and they may draw on Interpersonal Therapy to help facilitate improved interactions between seniors and those that care for them.
