My ideal client is someone who may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck—often because they’ve been navigating the world carrying burdens shaped by cultural, generational, or systemic challenges. They may be a teenager struggling to make sense of their identity in a complex social environment, an adult dealing with chronic anxiety or depression, or someone managing symptoms of trauma or long-term psychological distress. No matter how big you may feel your concern is, you are always worthy of grace and compassion.

If you're here, you might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from carrying everything on your own. Whether you're dealing with the intense symptoms of PTSD or experiencing the subtle weight of anxiety or depression, you don't have to face it alone. My approach to therapy is collaborative. I am not here to "fix" you; instead, I am here to walk alongside you as we explore what may be hindering you from living the life you desire. I work with both adults and teens facing a variety of challenges. I believe that healing occurs within relationships—both with ourselves and with others, as well as in the therapeutic space.

My predominant theoretical model is solution focused. It is a very respectful form of therapy, and respects each client's cultural beliefs, religious beliefs, and personal journey. One of the things I love most about my role, is witnessing other's journey, and helping them move through struggles and life challenges.

I'm excited to work with someone seeking effective support for emotional and behavioral challenges they feel unable to manage alone. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma responses, identity stressors, chronic illness, or relational difficulties. I have been counseling since 2006. My approach to therapy is called "Person Centered," which means that I meet people where they are and work at their pace towards their goals. I believe that every person I see is an intelligent, worthwhile human being that just wants to make their life better. I aim to be genuine, respectful and trustworthy, in order to create a place where people feel safe enough to process, understand and resolve their struggles. I love helping people find insight into their problem behavior and the courage to change it.

So here's the deal. How often do you say things like, "suck it up" and "rub some dirt on it" when things get tough? What are you hoping to gain from avoiding the truth that brought you to say those things? Are you bottling your feelings? That is the real issue: how you deal with life's roadblocks, speed bumps, and... and not whether or not they exist. Often, there is more than just you involved; you have children, and they look to you as an example. Emotions are human, YOU are human, THEY are human. But HOW in the HELL do you deal? Grab life by the horns and let's make a game plan! Life isn't easy. Call me...you are not alone!

I love what I do.... I am grateful to have lived and worked with my wife these past 38 years. Together we have built a practice based on mutual respect and integrity. So it is no surprise, this is how we encourage individuals and couples to treat others in their life. I work with adolescents and adults, individuals and couples to heal hurts or find answers to confusing situations. Although we are very different in our approach, between us, my wife and I work with a wide variety of concerns. If you give us a call, I believe you will be pleased.

Life can bring challenges in terms of a person’s stage in life, societal pressures, unexpected life events, responsibilities, relationships, and the stories people tell themselves. Making the decision to seek help is a brave, monumental step in the process of healing. The therapeutic relationship is a significant agent of change, and I consider it foundational to the growth and healing of individuals. Each therapeutic relationship is unique, and forming the rapport acts as a roadmap to healing.

I'm currently using both in-person and telehealth counseling with my clients in Oklahoma. I am currently taking new clients. My goal is for clients to finish counseling feeling heard, cared for and loved. Sometimes stress and trauma can be made worse by our own beliefs. Therapy can help identify and correct those harmful thoughts and false beliefs. Caring friends have helped my family and me to face life's biggest challenges. Remember, you can survive even the worst of times, and there is nothing too difficult for you to handle. Let's reason together and find your answers.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I focus on creating a comfortable and safe environment where people feel genuinely heard and supported. I work with kids, teens, adults, and couples, walking with them through life’s challenges and helping them find their own strength. I understand how heavy grief, loss, sadness, and worry can feel, and my goal is to help make that weight a little easier to carry while finding ways to move forward. I use different strategies depending on what works best for you, because everyone’s story and needs are different.

Male Therapists

As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?

There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?

Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?

Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?

Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
