I have worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety and trauma impact.
I believe everyone is the master of their life so that I believe my job, as a counselor, is to explore and guide my client to recognize and use their strengths then accompany them navigating out of the struggling period in life. I appreciate to have the privilege being the witness of their journey. I am an immigrant from Taiwan which made me understand the possible barriers from the cultural perspectives. I am fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese beside English.

While I mainly use a psychodynamic lens, I also incorporate other techniques and skills like attachment and trauma work, CBT, and DBT.
What makes you...you? If you've ever struggled with this question, welcome to Skyway Counseling. Your story is unique and I am grateful you’re choosing to share it with me. I believe that the counseling relationship should be honest, encouraging, nonjudgemental, and collaborative. I know you are capable of navigating these obstacles, whether you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, or trauma. In addition to the previous list, I also specialize working with transracial adult adoptees and marginalized people through trauma and identity work. My goal is to help you build your own skyway to connect all the parts of you together.

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor, and an EMDR Certified therapist. My area of focus is Trauma, Depression, Sexual Abuse, Anxiety, PTSD, and Social Anxiety. When I first started as a new therapist in a busy private practice, I quickly realized that most of my clients had suffered some form of trauma in their lives that was keeping them stuck. I trained to be a counselor because I truly wanted to help people overcome their past. As I came across more and more clients struggling with their trauma symptoms, I started to look around for ways to better prepare myself to help the population I served.

My passions are working with clients living with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, religious trauma, and gender dysphoria.
I'm Logan (they/them) and I'm an East Asian non-binary person who has lived insight into what it’s like to not be white, cis, or straight in a state like Ohio. I’ve lived in the Midwest my whole life, and I also come from a background of being raised in Christian/immigrant communities. I have experience working with the following: QTBIPOC communities, neurodivergent people, and people living with HIV. I’ve also got experience working specifically with trans clients who are exploring their transition process. I think it's crucial to provide empowering and identity-specific therapy spaces, especially for QTBIPOC right now.

Whether you are 6 or 106, come as you are and be your authentic self, as you have a safe space with me! I love getting the chance to help people have those “ah-ha” moments when they work through self-exploration and healing through previous grief, trauma, stress, and/or relationships or any challenges life has to offer.
Have you ever experienced someone giving you an uncomfortable glance or had harmful words spoken to or about you because of your racial identity, ethnicity, sexual/affectional orientation, or just because of the way you look? Have you ever had difficulties describing what or how you’re feeling, or not knowing what the hell to do when you’re feeling the feels? Are you new to therapy, trying to navigate and manage the stressors of life, have tried therapy before and it wasn’t a good fit, or maybe you’re returning to continue working toward new goals?

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
