Although I have worked with all demographic, I specifically enjoy working with older children and adolescents.
If I were to choose my specialities, I believe it would be depression, anxiety and dysfunction in relationship.

Hello, I'm Brooke, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. My journey in mental health began with personal struggles early in life, which motivated me to volunteer as a crisis worker at a local suicide hotline during my first year of college. This experience ignited my passion for helping others, leading me to spend the next decade supporting individuals in dual diagnosis treatment. I later pursued my MSEd in counseling from Youngstown State University, graduating in 2017

My counseling practice is limited to diagnosis and treatment of mental health symptoms in children, adolescence, and adults.
My focus is to help our clients understand the world they live in, make personal meaning of their circumstances, and tap into the power and resiliency that will enable them to take control over their lives. I believe that with increased self-understanding the client can make decisions that help them live functional lives. I support the client's efforts using developmentally appropriate strategies. The work we undertake together is intended to honor and support the client's values and beliefs. The counselor's role will be to act as a guide, supporting the client's explorations and personal self-discoveries.

For children and teens, I integrate play
You’re ready to break free from old narratives and step into a life that feels authentic and whole. Maybe you’ve felt silenced, marginalized, or stuck in grief — but deep down, you know you want more. You want more clarity, more courage, and a sense of belonging. You’re looking for a way to express your needs, rediscover your strengths, and redefine yourself on your own terms. At your core, you want to feel empowered, seen, and fully capable of creating a life you love.

We carry the weight of our burdens, the responsibility of caring for our kids, and end up putting our own needs as a last resort.
I have personal experience with birth trauma, and training through Postpartum Support International, as well as working with Sufficient Grace Ministries for perinatal loss. My goal is to support families from the early stages of life, to provide support from the time you consider pregnancy, to the first several years after, and everything in between.

I work with people across the lifespan from infants and young children to teens and adults.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices like CBT, EMDR, and attachment-focused therapies (PCIT, CPP), but at the heart of my work is a person-centered connection. I believe that every individual has strengths worth building on and a story worth honoring.

I use cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused approaches to help kids, teens and adults improve life issues, mental health concerns, and substance abuse struggles.
Imagine if a miracle took place in your life to change things to be just the way you would want them to be. Many times we think it will take a miracle to see any improvements in our lives. I am no miracle worker, but I do feel that most desired changes are achieveable and I would like the opportunity to help you envision, work towards and finally see what life can be for you. Since I was young, I have always wanted to help people and I got into this field because of this. I feel it is my calling.

I am passionate about creating a space where children, adolescents and adults feel their most seen, heard and accepted even when they feel their most vulnerable.
I specialize in individual therapy that is built on the foundation of a strong therapeutic alliance. While I do not believe that diagnoses define us, I know that receiving an accurate diagnosis can be empowering and enlightening. This is why I rely on both a mastery of clinical skills and genuine relationship building to help my clients meet their goals.

Depression and relationship strain can quietly wear you down, leaving you exhausted, disconnected, or unsure how to fix what keeps going wrong. Persistent sadness and recurring conflicts often feed into one another, affecting motivation, sleep, and communication with the people you care about most. These patterns can shift with the right support. I specialize in marriage counseling, relationship issues, and depression, helping individuals, couples, and families find steadier ways to relate, rebuild trust, and restore a sense of closeness and purpose.

Child Therapists

What can a child therapist help with?

A therapist can help with any difficult experience a child may encounter growing up, including learning problems or anxiety related to school, relationship challenges with friends or parents, bullying, intense emotions or phobias, divorce and family dynamics, or the death of a pet or loved one. A therapist can help children process their experience and develop coping skills in an age-appropriate way.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?

A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?

Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How long are sessions with child therapists?

Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.

How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?

The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.
