Want a marriage with less conflict, know how to control worries, be able to cope & manage emotions, want children to be on green at school?
Clients who see me often struggle with feeling hopeless, alone, trouble getting out of bed. Or some are in relationships and having trouble communicating. Some have children with issues at school and not sure how to help them. They are tried of feeling the way they do and want help. This is not how they envisioned life to be like. They want so much more out of their marriage, for their kids, for themselves. They want to be done fighting and carrying everything on their shoulders alone. They want help with the worrisome thoughts and controlling emotions. They would like to know they are not alone dealing with life struggles.

The entire world has been changed, seemingly overnight. Please reach out if you need to talk to someone. Ever wake up in the morning and said to yourself, "I cannot keep doing this", only to find yourself doing the very thing you swore off only four hours ago? If you have said this to yourself, you have probably been surfing the internet for a cure for addictions, or how to quit drinking so much, or how to make it through detox. Addictions are insufferable. I have been working in the field for 13 years with mental health and addiction issues.

While I see a wide range of clients, many of my clients have struggled with narcissistic family members or partners, dysfunctional families (now and in childhood), depression, and anxiety.
Have you spent your life overachieving, working hard, taking care of others, doing all the right things, and yet things aren't working out how you expected them to? Are your relationships very often one-sided, where you give a lot but no one takes care of you? I see you. My practice focuses on those who have "done all the right things," and are wondering why things are still so hard. Unfortunately, being hard on ourselves, working hard, achieving all the things, and taking care of everyone around us doesn't often lead to the sort of healing and peace we long for.

I work with high-functioning adults and couples struggling with emotional disconnection, relationship stress, anxiety, family conflict, and communication challenges.
I work with thoughtful, capable individuals and couples who are successful in many areas of life, yet find themselves stuck in patterns that logic, effort, or good intentions haven't been able to change. My approach goes beyond simply communicating better. Together, we slow down the cycle, get curious about what's happening beneath it, and build a deeper understanding of yourself and the people who matter most. With greater clarity comes the ability to communicate differently, make more intentional choices, repair what matters, and create lasting change in your relationships and your life.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
