I believe great strides can be made through a strong therapeutic relationship. When you walk into my office you will be stepping into a judgement free space and met with compassion and support. Come as you are with everything you have. I have a passion for working with women throughout their journey to motherhood and parenting. Motherhood has been one of the most dramatic life transitions in my life. Whether you are trying to conceive, anxious during pregnancy, or walking through the throes of the fourth trimester (and beyond) I will walk by your side and help you to find who you are in this new stage of life.

Our mental/emotional health is often overlooked despite being central to our well-being. Sometimes we can feel suffocated by the pain of our life experiences. Counseling offers hope and a pathway for healing so that the brokenness in our past doesn't negatively affect our present and future. Decide to invest in yourself and improve your enjoyment of life regardless of your past or current circumstances. Getting the help you need is something you'll never regret.

Being born and raised in the Detroit, Michigan area, and having lived in several other cities in Michigan, Ohio, and Washington State, has given me an appreciation of the wonder and beauty of diversity. Before I was able to attend college to pursue my true passion, I worked as an auto mechanic, painter, and crane operator in a steel mill. After completing bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology, I worked in community mental health while obtaining a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have also worked to achieve an independent counseling license.

I don't believe anyone has to be defined by their past. It is often the case that life events are the very things that prevent people from living the life they both want and deserve. I have over 20 years experience working with people to assist them in overcoming substance use problems and ten plus years working with other mental health related problems. I would be honored to assist you in your journey to freedom from whatever it is that is holding you back.

It has been my experience that individuals are extremely resilient but often life can create very painful and complex problems and situations that are difficult to navigate. I aim to provide a safe environment where clients receive the support, encouragement and space to talk through any challenges they face. To find their own voice and empower them to make decisions that will serve them not just in this moment, but for the rest of their lives. Allowing clients to recognize their own strength, uniqueness and to trust their own voice. It is an honor to bear witness to an individuals journey towards mental health wellness.

Have you tried therapy before but felt that talking in a stale office didn't feel quite right? Have you felt like talk therapy helped a little, but didn't get you as far as you were hoping? Or maybe you feel nervous about even starting therapy when you envision sitting across from someone else and sharing your fears and worries? Perhaps it's time to try something a little less traditional!
