I am a compassionate and dedicated
woman
who is looking to help others through hardships, negative thoughts, and transitions in life.
Through life’s ups and downs, it is crucial for people to be seen, heard, and understood. It is through this validation that my goal is to be a consistent, constant support system for my clients through the ebbs and flows-good and bad. My contribution as a therapist is to provide a safe space for individuals to learn about themselves, explore their minds and hearts, and to challenge themselves when necessary. As for my approach, I often utilize Person Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as incorporating mindfulness techniques into treatment plans. I also integrate an eclectic approach to tailor to my clients needs.

I primarily work with
women
experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship problems, stress, and concerns related to life adjustments & transitions.
We all need somewhere to go when the world feels overwhelming. I have seen how having the space and tools to explore your relationships, beliefs, thoughts, and behavior patterns can create opportunities for healing and growth. I believe that this can start with a therapist, a relationship built on support, empathy, and non-judgment.

I work with kids and adult
women
. If you have a kid who has experienced something stressful – abuse, neglect, divorce, medical ailments, multiple moves, etc. – and is anxious, angry, sad, distrustful, clingy and more, I will work with your child and you to effectively deal with what has happened and decrease problematic behaviors, emotions, and thoughts. If you are an adult
woman
who has mild stress for whatever reason and you either want to alleviate that stress or just want someone outside your personal world to talk with, I will work with you to meet your goal.

I specialize in working with adults who are going through difficult times. It looks different for each person. What I love about the work I do is that although I initially see people at very low points in their lives, as we work together they find courage, skills and resiliency to keep going and to make meaning of their lives.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
