I work with women who are used to being the strong one for everyone else, but are ready to feel supported themselves. Many of the women I see are managing ADHD, chronic health conditions, or the effects of ongoing stress and past or current trauma. On the outside, it can look like everything is handled, but internally they feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or disconnected. My goal is to create a space where you can slow down and begin to understand what’s been weighing on you without judgment or pressure. Together, we focus on helping you feel more grounded, supported, and in control of your life in ways that feel sustainable.

Becoming a parent can be simultaneously the most rewarding and most challenging time in your life. You may be struggling with conception, or you just gave birth and are experiencing scary and debilitating depression or anxiety, or maybe you’ve lost who you are in all the roles you’re playing (mother, partner, employee) and you want to find yourself again without feeling guilty about it. Or maybe nothing is “wrong” but everything still sucks. I specialize in treating all facets of maternal mental health & wellness, from Millennial/Generation Z life transitions, to conception, infertility and loss, through pregnancy and postpartum.

You've had the same argument three nights in a row. Or maybe you're not arguing much anymore but feel more like roommates than partners. Somewhere between work, parenting, life transitions, and the noise of everyday life, the connection that once felt natural is now harder to find. I use Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples slow reactive cycles, understand what’s happening beneath conflict, and change the way they respond to each other in moments of stress and disconnection. We'll work to reduce conflict, rebuild emotional safety, and strengthen closeness and partnership in your relationship.

Somewhere along the way, keeping up with everything started to feel like too much — even if you can't quite explain why. Maybe it's showing up in your relationship, in a low hum of anxiety, or in the feeling that you've worked hard at life and still don't feel the way you expected. I work with people who are self-aware, curious, and ready to do more than manage. My approach is body-based and relational — EFT, Gottman, somatic therapy, Brainspotting, and EMDR. For those ready to go deeper, I offer intensives: concentrated half-day or full-day sessions for individuals and couples.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
