I have spent nearly ten years helping children, teens, and young adults feel understood, supported, and capable of real change. I received my bachelors and masters degree in social work from The Ohio State University. I focus on practical skills that help young people manage big emotions, build confidence, and navigate everyday challenges. I work closely with families and individuals to create a welcoming, collaborative space where people can grow at their own pace. My style is down‑to‑earth, encouraging, and rooted in the belief that every person deserves someone in their corner.

Besides my experience in treating PTSD, Chronic PTSD and trauma with therapy and EMDR, I also am able to successfully treat anxiety and OCD with ERP-exposure and response prevention.
My primary passion is helping people heal from trauma as an EMDR therapist. I am so moved by the courage of my clients. I am amazed at our capacity for healing and am profoundly honored to assist in a process that is both so deeply painful and so joyful in recovery. I also work with clients on other issues like depression, anxiety, women's issues, life transitions, boundaries, communication and relationships. I have completed my Level III Board Certification in Telehealth because I want to be able to help people all across Ohio, not just those who can come to my office in person.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling frustrated, mentally drained, and unsure why “coping harder” hasn’t worked. I’m Sana, clinical therapist and founder of Sukoon Psychotherapy, and I specialize in helping kids, teens, adults, couples, and families work through anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, mood disorders, and relationship challenges using evidence-based therapy.

I enjoy working with emerging and young adults seeking a healthier relationship with food, their bodies, and their minds. If you've been struggling with the cycle of control, restriction, binge eating, or self-criticism, it can feel overwhelming and isolating to break free. Together, we can navigate your journey toward greater self-acceptance, peace, balance and well-being. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am especially passionate about working with those who feel misrepresented in the dominant narrative of eating disorders and recovery, whether due to body size, identity, or other factors.

If you’re here, it might be because carrying everything on your own has become overwhelming; rumination with anxiety and depression that feels never-ending. Relationships, interests that once brought you joy, are no longer finding you. Venting to family and friends isn’t enough—you’re ready for meaningful, lasting change with gentle accountability. It's important for you to have understanding & validation, not shame or judgement, when honoring your life’s transitions and addressing challenges. Your desire be heard; it's not too much. You should be SO proud for taking the first steps towards something different in your life!

I use evidence-based techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Exposure Response and Prevention ( ERP) to help individuals (age 10+) work toward lasting healing.
My approach is compassionate, direct, and creative, and I specialize in working with clients experiencing PTSD, grief, anxiety, OCD, and difficulties transitioning to adulthood. I utilize a combination of EMDR, CBT, ERP, and solution-focused therapy, but can integrate other forms of therapy, such as faith-based therapy, depending on client interest.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
