I believe that each of us have been created to live life on purpose, with purpose, and with meaning. Wellness means giving attention to ourselves physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. During the most difficult times in our lives, we can find deficits in our wellness – in any of the above areas. When we are impaired, our functioning is also impaired. As a counselor, my mission is to work with adults, couples, families, and children during the most difficult times in their lives. I am dedicated to empowering you and your loved ones to find “wholeness.

Are you seeking clarity about attention, learning, or social differences? Are you a high-masking or high-achieving adult who has internalized your challenges over the years, but always wondered about your neurotype? Navigating the world as a neurodivergent person—or as the parent of a neurodivergent child—can bring unique questions and challenges. As an experienced psychologist specialized in Autism, ADHD, and learning differences, I offer a safe, and affirming space for individuals and families to explore concerns, receive comprehensive and insight-oriented diagnostic evaluations, and access strengths-based services.

At ICFT, we see people who have tried everything and have made the courageous decision to admit they need some help. For example, couples that want to stop arguing and find the joy in their relationship. Parents that want to stop being irritated and gain new skills to help their children succeed. Families that need help navigating a path toward healing. Nothing is more frustrating than trying really hard and still feeling like the particular problem is not getting better. At ICFT, we help our clients learn new approaches, so they don't simply try hard, but actually see progress.

My primary passion is helping people heal from trauma as an EMDR therapist. I am so moved by the courage of my clients. I am amazed at our capacity for healing and am profoundly honored to assist in a process that is both so deeply painful and so joyful in recovery. I also work with clients on other issues like depression, anxiety, women's issues, life transitions, boundaries, communication and relationships. I have completed my Level III Board Certification in Telehealth because I want to be able to help people all across Ohio, not just those who can come to my office in person.

My ideal client is the client that is willing to do the mental and emotional work that a therapeutic relationship requires, regardless of the issue they are bringing. These clients are desirous of change and growth and have some degree of motivation to achieve them. They want to understand themselves better in order to develop and maintain healthy relationships with themselves and others. They commit their time and energy to themselves and the process and are respectful of my time.

Our team is trained in EMDR, TF-CBT, DBT and CBT to support healing.
"My mission in life is not to merely survive, but to thrive and do so with some passion, compassion, some humor, and some style." -Maya Angelou As black women we are usually the last on our list- the order is usually kids, partners, parents, family, jobs, friends... then you. All of this and we're barely making it. Why continue to struggle and merely survive, when you can thrive. Depression doesn't always look like tears and pity parties. It can look like overwhelm, anger, unstable emotions, isolation, and anxiety too! Sound like anyone you know? Is it you girl?

Many people come to therapy feeling frustrated by patterns they’ve tried to change again and again—patterns that affect their well‑being, their relationships, and their sense of stability. My work focuses on helping clients understand these cycles, gently interrupt them, and move toward change that feels empowering rather than overwhelming. Together, we create space for growth that feels steady, supportive and freeing. My therapeutic style is warm, humanistic, and person‑centered. I take time to understand the whole person and the experiences that shaped them, with a strong emphasis on trauma‑informed care.

I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care, while tailoring each session to your unique needs.
Hello—I’m Randy Carmack, LISW, LICDC. If you’ve been wondering whether your mental health or substance use might be something to look at more closely, you’re not alone. Many people reach a point where things don’t feel quite right—maybe stress is harder to manage, relationships feel strained, or patterns around alcohol or other substances have started to cause concern. Taking that first step to explore it can feel uncertain, and even a little overwhelming, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful and lasting change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
