It is my honor to walk alongside my clients through some of the most difficult things they face on their journey to healing. We all develop emotional stuck points that hold us back from mental and emotional health. There is hope! Brain based therapy is one of the best answers to these stuck points. I am an EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapist offering intensives. I work from an attachment based, trauma informed perspective for healing.

As we navigate our lives, we develop beliefs about ourself through our experiences. These beliefs have powerful effects on our sense of belonging, our attempts to receive love and affection, and our desires for intimacy. Feeling accepted and valued can result in a sense of self that approaches life with trust, confidence and flexibility. When difficult events arise, or we feel rejected and mistreated, the way we view ourself and our efficacy can be impacted. While we cannot change the experiences of our life, we can rewrite the meaning we assign to those experiences and free ourself from the associated distress.

It’s my goal to help you live a happier life with more freedom, peace, and fulfillment. I firmly believe that such a life is possible for everyone. However, we all encounter challenges in life, such as difficult relationships, traumatic experiences, rejection, loss, fear, and failure; and sometimes it's hard to make sense of our pain and figure out how to move forward. At times like these, it can be especially helpful to have another person who can listen deeply to you and walk with you.

Intrusive thoughts. Mental rituals. Constant “what ifs.” OCD can be exhausting and often misunderstood. Anxiety can shrink your world. Depression can quietly disconnect you from who you used to be. I work primarily with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, agoraphobia, grief, and relationship stress. I feel especially connected to young men, BIPOC clients, neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQ+ clients, and first-generation cycle breakers, while welcoming all identities.

Most couples don’t come to therapy because they don’t love each other. They come because they keep having the same conversations without resolution. You may feel unheard, misunderstood, or emotionally disconnected—or like no matter how you try to communicate, it turns into conflict or distance. I help couples and families identify and change the patterns that keep them stuck so real repair can happen. I currently prioritize couples and family therapy services. Individual therapy is limited and may be offered on a waitlist basis. Extended sessions and intensives are also available for those seeking more focused, structured support.

I work with people in high‑pressure careers — attorneys, therapists, medical professionals, & others expected to stay composed while navigating conflict, trauma, & constant demands. You may be ambitious, successful, and deeply committed to your work, yet still feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in perfectionism, demoralized, & inadequate. Many of my clients notice that the qualities that help them excel professionally also create strain at home. You might feel disconnected from your partner, short‑tempered with the people you care about, or too drained to be present after work. These are professional hazards that can be addressed.

Life can oftentimes feel overwhelming and if you have wished for an instruction manual or 'how-to' guide, you are not the first, nor will you be the last. My approach works to help you better understand how best to navigate the world around you, especially if the world was not built with you in mind. Together, we can develop the support, structure, and safety that you deserve while going through life. My practice is neurodivergence-affirming and queer-positive. I strive to foster an environment where you can belong, instead of one where you have to fit in.

Very few of us were given the tools and affirmation needed to navigate sex, identity, and relationships, despite these things being a fundamental part of our humanity. I am a sex & relationship therapist passionate about reducing sexual shame, fostering a lens of curiosity and self-acceptance in sexuality, building a sense of playfulness and confidence, developing a personal acumen of sexual values, and unlearning messages of sex-negative cultures. Here are some of the topics that often come up in sex & relationship therapy with the folks I work with:

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
