I help people to achieve any goal, whether it's using hypnosis to kick a bad habit, such as smoking or overeating; or changing negative beliefs, such as not being good enough; or tending to grief and loss by obtaining closure, insight or a deeper understanding of why something ended the way it did, or learning meditation and mindfulness to assist with reaching their full potential.
I provide compassionate and respectful, short-term, spiritual and intuitive counseling via phone, video chat, or in-person at one of my two office locations. My style of counseling has a strong emphasis on spirituality. I also offer hypnotherapy, intuitive readings, mindfulness training and teach meditation. I specialize in brief forms of counseling.

Hello, I'm Justin. I knew for quite a while that I wanted a career which gave me the opportunity to help others. My original plan was to be a teacher. Then, I worked with individuals with developmental disabilities for almost 10 years, before finding the world of mental health. Since then, I’ve provided many services in a variety of settings. I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kentucky, currently offering individual therapy to clients aged 13 and up. I mainly use an approach that includes DBT-informed and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies.

Mindfulness-Based therapy teaches about the present moment, connecting with day-to-day situations and stressors learning to practice 'pause' rather than reacting.
Ruins are not empty. They are sacred places full of presence (John O'Donahue: Anam Cara). Uncovering a deeper understanding of ourselves most often comes from experiencing unexpected changes such as divorce, the loss of a loved one, mental and physical health changes and even embarking on a new career. Changes can throw us into chaos. Let's discover your presence, your power of growth, and your peace within. Let's talk about our options.

Hello! I have been a counselor for 18 years. I love meeting and working with people of all communities. This often includes clients focusing on mood disorders, self-esteem and anxiety. I also love working with people who are LGBTQIA2s and have provided multiple referral letters for clients seeking gender-affirming procedures. I have a casual approach and use a lot of humor in sessions, but don't let that fool you.

“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain. But you are not the rain.” – Matt Haig We all need the opportunity in our lives to be seen, heard, and validated and therapy is a safe place to find that. Whether it’s coping with stress, processing difficult emotions, adapting to life changes, or dealing with anxiety, depression, or ADHD, I am here to see, hear, and validate you.

Using CBT, ACT, and mindfulness, I help clients calm their nervous systems, reconnect with their bodies, and navigate anxiety, identity shifts, and the mental loads they carry with greater confidence and clarity.
I support women navigating mood symptoms in pregnancy, infertility, postpartum anxiety and depression, identity shifts, and the mental load of motherhood. I also work with women experiencing life transitions, anxiety, trauma recovery, relationship stress, or wanting to work through childhood wounds to help them feel more emotionally secure in adulthood. Many women come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck in survival mode, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to slow down. My approach helps women build acceptance, confidence, emotional insight, and a stronger sense of self.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
