Hello! I have been a counselor for 18 years. I love meeting and working with people of all communities. This often includes clients focusing on mood disorders, self-esteem and anxiety. I also love working with people who are LGBTQIA2s and have provided multiple referral letters for clients seeking gender-affirming procedures. I have a casual approach and use a lot of humor in sessions, but don't let that fool you.

From the outside, your life may appear steady — responsibilities handled, roles fulfilled, expectations met. Yet internally, you feel anxious, drained, overwhelmed, or quietly carrying unresolved trauma. You may struggle with mood shifts, grief, addiction, or relationship strain while continuing to show up for everyone else. You want more than coping — you want relief, clarity, and meaningful change. At A&R Behavioral Health, we offer structured, trauma-informed therapy that addresses patterns at their roots, strengthens emotional regulation, and builds practical tools for everyday life.

Relationships are one of the most meaningful and sometimes most challenging parts of our lives. I work with couples who want to rebuild trust, strengthen communication, and reconnect emotionally after feeling distant or stuck in painful cycles. Whether you’re navigating conflict, betrayal, or simply trying to grow together in a more intentional way, therapy can be a safe place to explore what’s getting in the way of closeness and understanding.

Is your child struggling with emotional regulation, sibling rivalry, bulling, ADHD, anxiety, divorce, grief, trauma, adoption, self-esteem or academic issues? Trust me, you are not alone. My approach enables children to disclose information in a way that is nonthreatening. I help parents feel sturdier and build stronger relationships with their child. At the other end of the spectrum, I recently started providing individual counseling for senior citizens. Often they are dealing with similar issues of loss, anxiety, family relationships, isolation and ways to continue their lives in a meaningful way.

I believe that therapy needs to be personalized to the individual and the goals that you have for yourself. Therapy is also a partnership between the therapist and the client. I often compare my view of therapy to a GPS; with you in the driver's seat, you select the destination you'd like to reach, and I'll help figure out a way to get us there. Empathy and therapeutic rapport are a foundation in my approach to practice; I have a genuine interest and investment in the lives of those that I work with, having compassion in all our interactions, while at the same time, also challenging you to work towards growth.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
