“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain. But you are not the rain.” – Matt Haig

I work best with men who are ready to be honest with themselves and make real changes. Many come to therapy feeling stuck, disconnected, ashamed, angry, or tired of repeating the same patterns. I help clients understand what is driving their behavior and take practical steps forward. My goal is to help clients understand themselves at a deeper level, offer practical tools and resources, and support them as they work toward meaningful change.

The burden of carrying life’s pain, loss, uncertainty, and difficult transitions can feel overwhelming and, at times, hopeless. Experiences that disrupt our sense of identity, purpose, and emotional well-being can leave us feeling disconnected, emotionally exhausted, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward. Seeking support during these moments is not a sign of weakness, but an opportunity for healing, growth, and rediscovery. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward in life.

I have worked with many clients who feel that everything they do, everything about them is just "wrong", not enough, not worthy. I strive to help clients understand that they are deserving of connection, acceptance and peace regardless of what past experience, other people, or even their own mind might be telling them. My approach is collaborative, incorporating curiosity, authenticity, openness and humor. It is through this collaborative process that I am able to help individuals gain insight into long held beliefs and patterns of behavior and to ultimately develop new ways of relating to themselves and others.

It can be exhausting feeling stuck. My ideal clients are individuals overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, burnout, or substance use who are ready to break out of unhelpful cycles.
Many clients come to me relying on alcohol or substances to manage the weight of the week. They want more than a place to vent; they want tangible solutions and an actionable roadmap.
We blend mental health counseling with specialized Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we help replace destructive habits with a practical toolkit to build resilience and support long-term recovery.

Alcohol Use Therapists
Are there specific medications for alcohol use?
There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.
How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.
How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
