Since 2005, I have been privileged to work with adults to help improve communication, heal past traumas, and overcome difficult situations that have created emotional upheaval. Whether you are entering counseling with hopes of restoring a relationship, experiencing a new found sense of confidence, or simply knowing you will be heard, I would be honored to work with you. Through counseling, we work together to develop a plan that will help you overcome your current situation and build a sense of strength and resilience so you know you can face other challenges with greater confidence.

From adulting, relationships, and parenting to grief, retirement, aging, spirituality and everything in between, I provide a safe space to process challenges, explore strengths, and embrace new experiences. No matter where you are on your journey, you don't have to face it alone. I’m available in person or virtual.

I have had the privilege of working as a Therapist for over 26 years. I am experienced and enjoy working with adolescent and adult clients in individual sessions as well as in couple and family sessions. During our time together we will explore your issues and patters of behaviors that are no longer working for you. We will do this through a collaborative process in an atmosphere that is safe, supportive and compassionate. Many of our behaviors are unconscious and actually worked for us in our earlier years. Together we will explore these issues and look at the potential for new responses and the potential for better outcomes.

I work with people in high‑pressure careers — attorneys, therapists, medical professionals, & others expected to stay composed while navigating conflict, trauma, & constant demands. You may be ambitious, successful, and deeply committed to your work, yet still feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in perfectionism, demoralized, & inadequate. Many of my clients notice that the qualities that help them excel professionally also create strain at home. You might feel disconnected from your partner, short‑tempered with the people you care about, or too drained to be present after work. These are professional hazards that can be addressed.

It’s not uncommon for anger, men’s issues, or relationship struggles to leave you feeling frustrated and disconnected. You may notice yourself pulling away, losing patience more easily, or carrying tension that doesn’t seem to let up. Over time, it can start to feel like life is happening on autopilot. We’ll create a place to pause, reset, and build tools that help you regain a sense of control. I specialize in anger management, men’s issues, and relationship issues, helping clients understand what fuels stress and frustration so they can respond more intentionally and feel more grounded in daily life.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
