I am passionate about helping people turn pain from the past into power for the future. Practicing good self-care can seem so secondary when we must juggle school with employment with caring for loved ones and keeping up with housework. Together we will use coping skills, de-cluttering, and time management to put yourself first and improve productivity. I am a therapist who sees other therapists. I also love working with students.

I work with adults and adolescents, and I generally work well with clients focusing on maternal and perinatal care, grief and loss, trauma, chronic and terminal illness, medical trauma, caregivers, neurodivergence, gender, sexuality, and identity exploration strained family relationships, and highly sensitive people or those who tend to experience strong emotions.
The therapeutic relationship is the most important part of the work of therapy to me, and I’m here to support you and cheer you on as you show up for yourself. I love incorporating humor into my work and believe that finding laughter in the otherwise dark and challenging parts of life can be healing.

Whether it be anxiety from unmanageable stress, depression, trauma, divorce, a death, or just trouble with navigating through life
I originally became a therapist/counselor to help others navigate through the darkest times of their lives. Whether it be grief, a traumatic experience, anxiety, depression, we all need someone willing to sit with us and walk through those dark times. I believe, we often find healing and purpose as we pick up our broken pieces and recover.

Whether you’re looking for skills-building, emotional processing, or deeper trauma healing, I’ve got you.
Deep-feeler? Over-thinker? Over-achiever? Not sure what your deal is, but just tired of going through it all on your own? I'm betting part of you already knows this deep down: there’s nothing wrong with you. You’ve been doing your best to survive, for so long. Together, let's approach your story with curiosity and compassion—first asking what is "right" with you—understanding what helped you to get through, and then exploring how those same strategies might be limiting for you now. I believe that we heal and build resiliency and internal integration through learning self-compassion. Could you be willing to try that?

I am a couples, trauma, and Personality Disorder specialist, as well as an AAMFT approved supervisor.
I am highly trained in multiple therapy models including Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, DBT, Structural Family Therapy, and clinical hypnotherapy. I do not use a single model for every client. Treatment is selected and integrated based on what will be effective for you. This allows for more precise work than a one model approach.

I specialize in EMDR therapy for trauma, anxiety, panic, and unresolved experiences.
I work best with people who are tired of feeling like the past keeps showing up in the present. Maybe it looks like anxiety, panic, overthinking, irritability, shutdown, or the same relationship patterns repeating themselves like a bad rerun nobody asked for. You may have talked about it, prayed about it, researched it, avoided it, and tried to muscle through it. But it is still there, and you are ready to actually work on it.

My work is trauma-informed, queer-affirming, and grounded in both clinical training and lived experience.
Maybe you grew up being told who you were supposed to be, and you're finally asking who you actually are. Maybe you left the church and nobody warned you grief would be part of the deal. Maybe your relationships don't fit the standard shape and you're tired of therapists who treat that like the problem. Maybe you're just exhausted, anxious, and ready for something to shift. Whatever brought you here, you deserve a space where you don't have to translate yourself.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
