Do you find yourself struggling to feel truly happy, no matter what you do? Are you someone whose life looks "good" from the outside, and yet it still feels like something is missing? Maybe you are not happy with some of the choices you are making and feel the need to make some changes. Maybe a life event has highlighted the fact that you're still not as happy or content as you want to be. Or maybe you just want to gain deeper insight into yourself and your past experiences, and you're ready to start creating new patterns in your life.

You're wanting to feel alive and comfortable in your own skin, but you find yourself freezing up or overwhelmed with images from the past or stuck in ways you can't explain. While talking about it can be helpful, if you're dealing with a trauma or ingrained stress response, it gets stuck in the body and talking alone doesn't unlock the trauma patterns in the body. Body-based modalities combined with talking really help to unwind trauma patterns. If you come see me, we won't only sit in chairs talking.

I feel it is important to offer expert quality care that is compassionate, and tailored to each person's uniqueness as an individual. I have 38 years of clinical experience working with children, teens, families, and adults facing various life challenges. Time passes quickly. We often spend our days unhappy, and stressed. Sometimes it can be difficult to see beyond the hardships, and realize what matters most to us. If you can't change a situation, change your perspective.

I work with busy moms who are holding it all together, individuals with chronic medical conditions, those going through break ups/ divorce, those with a history of trauma who are trying to move forward, and more.
Hey you! You're exhausted from being the one who holds it all together.
Not because life is falling apart, but, oddly enough, because it never does. YOU manage everything, everyone, every crisis. And somehow that's become a real problem.
I work with adults who are quietly drowning behind a very competent exterior. High-achievers. People-pleasers. The one everyone else leans on. You've gotten so good at performing "fine" that you've lost track of what actually is fine - and what isn't. Sweeping your needs aside has become second nature and you're tired of it.
That's where I come in.

You give so much to your relationships it hurts. When someone needs assistance you drop everything to be there. You are quick to "fix" the problem or “save” the day. You consistently prioritize others' needs above your own. Yet, amidst your unwavering dedication you yearn for a sense of fulfillment that remains elusive. The pursuit of happiness feels like a distant dream, and even the mere thought of self-reflection triggers discomfort and avoidance. Your selflessness often leaves you feeling like a martyr, constantly seeking validation through the act of fixing others' problems. The emptiness inside persists despite your efforts.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.
What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.
When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.
How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
