Are you noticing the same patterns showing up in your life and relationships—no matter how much you try to change them? At some point, insight alone isn’t enough. You may understand why you do what you do, but still feel stuck repeating it. I work with adults who are ready to go deeper than surface-level coping. Together, we look at how your past experiences, family dynamics, and internal patterns are shaping your current life - often in ways that are hard to see on your own.

Sometimes, in life, we are used to being invalidated by the people closest to us. This can cause us to question what we value, feel, think, & believe in. Learning how to identify & self validate your feelings, thoughts, values, takes time. I believe this is achievable through learning self compassion, living by your values & by building a therapeutic relationship where you are not only seen & heard, but also where you are unconditionally accepted, supported & provided an environment for healing. I understand the amount of work and effort that is not the easiest but necessary to overcome your past, to persevere & define yourself.

You appear that you have it together, and maybe you do, mostly. But behind that is a mind that rarely rests. You overthink, worry about what others need, and hold yourself to a relentlessly high standard. So many people I work with are exactly this way, driven, compassionate, and quietly running on empty. I work with adolescents and young women who are struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt. Here, you don't have to perform or pretend but rather just show up as you are. We'll work together on quieting the anxiety, strengthening your sense of self, and learning to honor your own needs without apology.

I understand that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in a positive therapeutic experience. I believe that psychotherapy is just as much a place to laugh, reflect, and celebrate growth as it is a place to grieve, process challenges, and sit with discomfort. My approach is collaborative and non-hierarchical—clients are the experts on their own lives, and my role is to walk beside them with curiosity, compassion, and clinical insight. I help children, teens, and young adults—as well as their families—navigate the often confusing and overwhelming worlds of school, relationships, and self-understanding.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families struggling with a wide range of issues. Whether it is anxiety in childhood or adulthood, marital conflict, grieving the loss of a loved one, or navigating motherhood, I understand that we all need connection and validation. We need to know we are not alone in whatever we are facing in life. Also, a common struggle for many is lacking a sense of purpose or meaning in their lives, often leading to frustration and despair. I am passionate about helping clients understand the importance of finding purpose.

Using emotionally focused therapy, I help couples gain a greater awareness of their emotions, underlying fears, and how these impact their relationships.
You’re not sure exactly when it happened. But recently, you’ve begun to feel like the spark in your relationship has fizzled out. It’s painful to remember the love and excitement you shared early on and how far you are from that now. You tell yourself that things will get easier, and the relationship will improve by itself. When this doesn’t happen, you begin to wonder if this is just how marriage is supposed to be. Maybe every relationship becomes stagnant eventually. But you’re not ready to give up that easily. You’re determined to reclaim the healthy, thriving relationship you both deserve – you’re just unsure how to achieve it.

Although change is not easy, it is the first step toward revising the areas of one's life that needs some modification. Emotionally Focused Therapists
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
