I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who treats a wide variety of issues and life changes, but I specialize in depression, anxiety, cutting, teens, couples and family therapy. I treat individuals ages 6 and older through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I offer therapy tailored to fit your particular needs in a welcoming environment where you will be heard and encouraged while you heal. Therapy is centered around you, the individual, couple or family, at your pace and comfort level.

The Clarity Couch is a private counseling practice based in Cleveland, Ohio. We specialize in providing care for Black folx, Folx of Color and we enjoy working with clients of all different backgrounds. Our goal is for you to have a safe space to talk through your concerns, learn new coping strategies and manage symptoms related to anxiety, depression and past trauma. Our goal extends beyond individual therapy sessions; we aim to educate the community on important topics like mental health, self-love, and fostering healthy relationships.

I help people recovering from traumatic experiences in relationships and I offer guidance and practical skills to take home. People come because they had a difficult childhood and were hurt by people they were supposed to trust. People who have felt anxious most of their lives and don't know how to stop repeating mistakes. Sometimes clients come as a couple trying to heal from infidelity, built up walls, and pain. These couples are tired of feeling lonely inside a relationship. There is a curious habit that I've noticed, especially when working with teens, that clients will mostly only work on the "issue of the week." This can have numerous benefits and can also delay the client's progress on any underlying concerns or patterns. Ideally, once a client has agreed to their treatment goals, they continue to take attainable steps towards that goal in therapy and in their daily life. When a client feels comfortable with their therapist to share their thoughts, emotions, and vulnerabilities, then deeper work can happen.

LaVesea is passionate about youth; youth who have difficulties with parents and/or family dynamics, anxiety and depression who look forward and are ready to navigate healing. LaVesea works with BIPOC clients who continue to navigate systemic oppression and are prepared to work through how it has effect relationships with others as well as how they view the world. She is also passionate about working with assisting BIPOC navigate and work through depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self- harm.

I enjoy getting to know each of my clients and how I can best work with them. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, and have a special interest in working with trauma/ PTSD, dissociation and sexual abuse. I offer EMDR Intensive sessions (sessions over 1 hour) for self pay clients. I currently see client's ages 4 and above. I am also trained in the World Professional Association For Transgender Health (WPATH) standards to evaluate and write letters for life/gender affirming care.

I am here to guide you through the uncomfortable parts of life both present and past, sit in them with you and work together to find a way through. I bring a straightforward approach and will push you to explore places of yourself you may want to run from. I believe therapeutic treatment should consist of a mutually respectful relationship between myself as the provider, and you as the client, in which we work together to confront the underlying beliefs and experiences that have brought you to therapy. I am also familiar with working in conjunction with local school districts to provide additional support for student mental health.

Dr. Hao Chu is a licensed clinical psychologist in Ohio. He received his Doctorate of Clinical Psychology, Psy.D., from Wright State University, School of Professional Psychology. He has years of professional experience in working with clients to overcome issues relating to anxiety, depression, trauma, and personal relationships. Dr. Chu is a cognitive-behavioral based therapist, who often integrates elements of humanistic, multicultural, and interpersonal theory in his practice. Moreover, he believes in engaging clients with empathy and compassion.
