Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists in North Olmsted, OH
We all share human experience of facing challenges, seeking understanding, and desiring emotional well-being. I've lived with the challenges of navigating life between two cultures, enduring the complexities and confusion that often accompany such a unique upbringing. My lived experience ignited me to develop a skill set to effectively support other women, mothers and children of immigrants living in the diaspora. As a MENA/SWANA therapist, I understand this step can be daunting. I hope you take comfort in me being here to support you on your journey and guide you towards discovering the inherent healing power within yourself.

I provide individual therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, PTSD, identity stress, and life transitions.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Perhaps you are carrying anxiety, trauma, or low mood, navigating relationship challenges, or moving through a major life transition. You might be balancing multiple identities, cultures, or roles, holding intergenerational stories, or feeling the weight of systemic and sociopolitical stress. At your core, you may be longing for relief, clarity, and a sense of safety and belonging, both within yourself and in your relationships. I believe healing happens in relationship, in safety, and in spaces where all parts of you are welcome.

If you’re here, something may feel heavy… Anxiety that lingers, grief that’s shifted you, or a sense of shame or exhaustion. Many people come to therapy unsure where to begin or if their struggle is “too small” for counseling. You don’t need to have it all figured out, let’s just take the first step together.
I’m a licensed professional counselor serving Ohio and Tennessee through telehealth. My work is relational and trauma-informed, shaped by years of walking alongside people navigating grief and emotional pain. We’ll move at your pace. You don’t have to do this alone.

I work with women and specifically specialize in perinatal/postpartum depression/anxiety, OCD, rage, birth trauma, grief/loss (miscarriage, infertility, stillbirth), and infertility.
I understand that one of the most difficult steps to overcome is the first step and acknowledging that you need more support in order to overcome or learn to cope with obstacles in your life. I believe there are many different ways to do that. I provide a driven/holistic approach in my work and at this time work exclusively with the perinatal population.

Many are seeking relief from distress, greater emotional balance, and a deeper understanding of themselves so they can live with more clarity, confidence, and alignment with their values.

I am a LPCC-S and I got my masters degree in clinical mental health counseling at Kent State University. I primarily use narrative therapy, reality therapy/choice theory, EMDR, and ERP. I can see ages 10 years old and up and will be doing telehealth counseling only. I believe the client knows themselves more than I will ever know them and am here to help them with what I learned in school to reach their goals.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
