Therapists in New Albany, OH
First (before I waste your time!): I am NOT a therapist. I talk with patients about medications, diagnoses, and "therapy-related" things but am NOT a therapist.
All of my clients, ages 5 to 65. I am able to build rapport quickly and most importantly, I listen. I am well-known for working with children's behavioral issues, kids in foster care, drug/substance users because of trauma-related things from their past and PTSD, anxiety and school concerns.
I tend to have long-term work relationships with my patients. I had 140-something patients registered before we opened and some have been with me since the beginning :)

I focus on autism/ADHD (with or without trauma/PTSD). ADHD/Autism does not need to be previously diagnosed. My method is to analyze connections which typically stem back to one’s family of origin, which can lead to poor self-regard. Together, we work to identify patterns and tendencies, as well as where they came from. I’ve seen people change for the better. We are looking for results, realizations, epiphanies, and for you to break free from the cycle of unhappiness and self-loathing. www.PaulCulbertson.com

You’re not sure exactly when it happened. But recently, you’ve begun to feel like the spark in your relationship has fizzled out. It’s painful to remember the love and excitement you shared early on and how far you are from that now. You tell yourself that things will get easier, and the relationship will improve by itself. When this doesn’t happen, you begin to wonder if this is just how marriage is supposed to be. Maybe every relationship becomes stagnant eventually. But you’re not ready to give up that easily. You’re determined to reclaim the healthy, thriving relationship you both deserve – you’re just unsure how to achieve it.

I believe that each client that seeks out psychotherapy has strengths. These strengths may be untapped, unrecognized, or underutilized. But they exist. I assist in connecting my clients to their internal resources. My clients also present with challenges for which they have an investment to change. Change, both immediate and long-lasting, are at the heart of psychotherapy.

For so many women, the journey toward healing from pregnancy and/or birth trauma, illness, grief, or loss can be a lonely one. As a therapist who specializes in working with women who have experienced trauma or chronic illness, I create a safe space for clients to bear witness to their unedited stories, including stories of traumatic loss. It is an honor to witness post-traumatic growth. I am present with my clients without judgment and with acceptance of how they feel. In my work with grieving clients, I believe that not all grief is created equal and traumatic grief can affect every part of an individual’s life and health.

You want to feel grounded, connected to yourself, and more at peace—but don’t know where to begin. Jason Stofel has been working in the field of social work in various settings since 1994. He began as a direct care staff serving youth involved in the juvenile court system in Delaware, Ohio as well as working with children and teens placed in out of home care at The United Methodist Children’s Home. It was in these two settings that he learned the importance of building relationships, providing consistency and behavioral management. He then entered into doing Community Based counseling at Directions for Youth and Families, serving at risk youth and their loved ones.

Life can sometimes feel like too much to carry. You are balancing relationships, work, family, and the constant pressure to keep moving forward, all while trying to stay connected to yourself. Maybe you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Perhaps you have been giving so much of yourself to others that you have lost sight of who you are, or you are craving a space where you can finally set everything down and just be. You do not have to figure it all out on your own.

GOING THROUGH A HARD TIME? Much like sedimentary rock forms over time, our early experiences are deposited within us layer upon layer, shaping who we are today. But even once rock is formed, it doesn’t ever stay the same. There are natural forces that are RE-forming it continually. And the same is true for us. So when we’re not aware a formational process is taking place, the events of our lives can sometimes be confusing, uncomfortable, or even downright painful. REformation Coaching helps you embrace naturally occurring experiences and engage with them in a way that allows YOU to determine how they ultimately reshape your life.
