I have worked with people of all ages suffering from alcohol and drug-related addictions, borderline personality disorder, PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, sexual abuse, anxiety, ADHD, and interpersonal problems.
When we learn to connect our mind, body, and spirit we can accept things for what they are, people for who they are, and still find harmony within. To me, life is like a roller coaster, and sometimes the only way to enjoy it is to throw your hands up and scream until you find the laughter within. We all suffer.

I have experience in supporting individuals who are navigating trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, life transitions, and emotional or behavioral challenges in children.
As a therapist, I show up authentically so my clients can have a genuine experience. I believe therapy should feel real and that means I bring honesty and compassion into every session. Sometimes that looks like holding up the mirror and having hard conversations, but always in a way that feels safe and supportive.

Addiction, abuse, ADD/H, anxiety, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, and so many other struggles can be overcome.
Helping people identify not just the struggle, but the pathway forward, is a primary focus. Talk for talk's sake is not enough. We'll develop a plan forward - ways to challenge your thoughts, different actions to change. I encourage reading, homework (not graded, don't worry), and other tasks to take the therapy session into your world - where it counts.

I work best with adults navigating the intersections of trauma, substance use, and high-stress life transitions. My ideal clients are those feeling 'stuck' in survival mode or disconnected from their bodies. At Together From Afar, we help you move forward by bridging the gap between talk therapy and physical relief. Utilizing EMDR, modalities of DBT, and somatic skills like PMR (progressive muscle relaxation), we don't just discuss the weight you’re carrying—we work to regulate your nervous system in real-time. Together, we’ll build a toolkit for resilience and a life that feels authentic to who you are.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
