The people who find me bring anxiety, stress, life transitions, and relationship challenges — and often something harder to name.
There's a frustration that accomplishment doesn't quite fix. A longing that persists beneath the competence — despite the deadlines met, the right things done, the life that looks, by most measures, like it's working. Something was supposed to arrive with all of this. A fullness. A contentment. A sense of having finally landed. And still it hasn't. Not quite. I work with accomplished adults who feel this — people doing well by most measures, who want more than symptom relief, more than coping strategies, more than slightly better.

Is your child or teen struggling with big emotions, anxiety, or behavior challenges—and having a hard time putting their feelings into words?
Many kids and teens communicate best through play and imagination rather than conversation alone. Sessions with me are developmentally appropriate and may include storytelling, role-play, art, movement, or other creative activities designed to support emotional awareness, coping skills, and self-expression.

As human beings, we all have a different perspective on life and what it has to offer. In counseling, we can process those emotions together and see if we can make the negatives into positives. I believe in building a strong and trustful rapport within each session to allow the safe space that you may need. In counseling and everyday life, you are allowed to feel what you feel.

I work with adult individuals who are dealing with life transitions, anxiety, stress, depression, communication and relationship issues, grief and trauma.
Emotional pain from childhood can affect many aspects of adulthood. You many feel that your past is: Compromising your ability to enjoy the present; Creating a disconnect from those around you; Causing you to please everyone but yourself; Contributing to generally unmothered, unsettled, and unhappy feelings. If this describes what you have been feeling, let's talk. I will help you make sense of those feelings in a very caring and understanding manner. We will find ways to help you move forward and enable you to appreciate who you are.

Life can be overwhelming—whether you’re dealing with relationship issues, major life changes, or anxiety that won’t quit.
Mindfulness? We’ll explore it from a science-based, evidence-driven perspective—not the spiritual kind. I focus on concrete skills that help you stay calm, focused, and in control, even when things feel overwhelming. Whether it’s stress, relationship struggles, or feeling stuck, I provide tools that lead to lasting change, not temporary fixes.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
