Accepting New Clients, evening hours available. Do you want to feel happier? Are you a woman (ages 16+) looking to improve your overall well-being, self growth and self awareness? I am a clinician that practices primarily from a holistic perspective. This perspective views each person as a whole, focusing on the mind and body; and not just a person's symptoms. I like to help clients explore deeper into the complex nature of their problems to feel empowered and build trust in themselves. I enjoy helping women set boundaries, learn to cope with burn out, decrease perfectionist tendencies and to feel overall more confident and secure in who they are.
Immediate Openings I enjoy working with a variety of clients with many presenting problems. I work alongside my clients to help them meet their goals while motivating them to continue to grow in their therapeutic and personal journeys.
My clients want to live richer, more emotionally balanced lives and have more fulfilling relationships. They are curious about their lives: "Is this all there is?" or "How did I get into this mess?" My clients soon realize that "going it alone in silence" is depressing and not hopeful. They see me as a trusted friend who cares about them. I see people just like you--healing from loss and grief due to the endings of relationships. I counsel parents who have relationship issues with their adult children. I help persons when their religion/spirituality seems to have ended. I help couples repair and rekindle their relationship.
Music therapy can be a space to foster creativity, empower, and build connections, therefore boosting your resilience in response to pain, conflict, loss, and trauma. My music therapy practice is person-centered and resource-oriented, meaning I believe you have capacities for growth, recovery, and change that, when accessed, claimed, and activated, support your health and wellbeing. I believe in a culture- and gender-responsive approach to therapy, embracing the wholeness of personhood and perspective you embody.
When I decided to pursue a career as a therapist I did so because I wanted to make the world a better place, and decided to do that by helping one person at a time . My primary approach to mental health counseling is the Person -Centered approach . This means I believe that no one knows you better than you know yourself. It is my job to help you identify goals , improve communication , strengthen self-esteem and develop solutions and coping skills. During the counseling process you are in the driver's seat, I am just a GPS to help you on the road to better mental health. However, I'm not closed to other counseling approaches.
I'm a therapist who believes that therapy should feel authentic and help people to change their life based on their own experience. I want to learn about you. I will be the trusted voice that will challenge you to grow, and also to remind you to be gentle with yourself. I work best with people living with depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, and abuse. I have an interest in helping people who experience chronic trauma and PTSD, as well as those who identify as adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional homes (ACA/ACOA).
Stressed out? Anxious about life? Not certain about what to do next? Have a child with special needs? Let me be the one to help you process through these difficult and transitional times. I will help you learn how to advocate and set boundaries for yourself. During our sessions, you can expect to learn how to cope and empower yourself to be the best you possible.
I will be your partner on your journey towards recovery, and will provide a safe, warm and nurturing environment where you can express yourself, get support and learn new skills. I use a strength based approach and will help you develop the tools you need in order to live a more fulfilling life. My goal is to ensure that you find relief from the immediate distress you may be experiencing, while also helping you build and strengthen coping skills that will improve your ability to manage life stressors long after therapy has ended.
Core Counseling Center is accepting new clients. Reaching out for therapy can be life changing. I treat a variety of concerns including trauma, weight management, depression, anxiety, and low self esteem. I believe therapy is meant to help each client gain a set of coping skills to better handle concerns in their daily lives and to feel heard. I recognize our environment (past and present) can shape our lives today and sometimes we need help finding out what is our mess and what is someone else's mess that was passed onto us.
