I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor who started her degree at the University of South Florida. I’ve worked from treatment assistant to supervisor. I have worked with those suffering with substance use disorders, trauma and panic disorders and even parents of children with special needs. My goal is to help people learn real time tools to help manage intense emotions and overcome pervasive patterns that prevent healthy relationships. Since I have worked in the social services for over 20 years, I have a wealth of knowledge. Asking for help is a first step toward a better understanding and improved functioning.

I love working with queer and trans people, as well as anyone who has felt othered by society.
This world is complex and full of contradictions, full of beauty and hate, full of barriers and possibilities. Life can get so messy, it can be hard to imagine a path to anything joyful, restful, fulfilling. I am here to dive in with you, to help you expand your sense of self and tap into your capacity to navigate this wild world with confidence and joy. I believe it is within our uniqueness that lies the potential for connection to ourselves, to others, and to the world. I am not going to apply a specific therapeutic formula onto you. We will work together to find a healing path that fosters a deep sense of safety and self trust.

As a queer & nonbinary therapist (they/them pronouns), I'm committed to providing an affirming and sex-positive space for queer and transgender clients, and folks in ethically non-monogamous relationships and kink communities.
My priority is to invite clients who have marginalized identities to feel both safe and challenged in my (virtual) office, and to help them build the skills and confidence they need to grow into the version of themselves they hope to be. We will focus on your whole self, your experiences, relationships, and environments, and how these impact your emotions, thoughts, and beliefs about yourself and the world. I enjoy working with adults managing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, and relationship concerns. My ideal client wants to be challenged, wants to grow, and is ready for the work of therapy and healing.

I hold a deep interest in the intersection of creativity and mental wellbeing. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing often begins when we are able to express what words cannot fully capture—and that the process of uncovering unconscious material can lead to profound insight, integration, and personal growth. Drawing from psychodynamic theory, I am interested in how early life experiences shape our internal world and influence current relationships and emotional patterns. I aim to help clients explore these deeper layers of their experience, offering a supportive space to process complex emotions and inner conflicts.

I work with people in high pressure careers — attorneys, therapists, medical professionals, & others expected to stay composed while navigating conflict, trauma, & constant demands. You may be ambitious, successful, and deeply committed to your work, yet still feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in perfectionism, demoralized, & inadequate. Many of my clients notice that the qualities that help them excel professionally also create strain at home. You might feel disconnected from your partner, short tempered with the people you care about, or too drained to be present after work. These are professional hazards that can be addressed.

The wounds queer and trans folks carry into therapy rooms aren't just personal history; they're the accumulated weight of systems that pathologized your identity, the relationships that couldn't support you, and the clinicians who treated your queerness as a variable to manage rather than a life to understand.
The people who find me are usually carrying more than one thing — queerness and trauma, identity and family rupture, relationships that don't fit the standard template. What they need isn't tolerance of complexity. It's someone who doesn't blink at it. We skip the explanation and get to the actual work.

As a queer therapist, I am passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ folks and adults who are navigating trauma, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, relationships, and burnout.
If you always feel like you're too much and not enough at the same time, say yes when you want to say no, or feel guilty just for having needs — you’re not alone, and you’re not broken. Maybe you second guess everything, feel on edge all the time, or like your body just won’t relax no matter how hard you try. I work with people who are tired of abandoning themselves just to be accepted. In therapy, we’ll work to gently unlearn those patterns, so you can start showing up for yourself — without the shame and guilt you’ve carried for so long.

As a queer, multiracial and neurodivergent woman, I have first hand experience trying to embrace my identity, find belonging, and navigate a world that wasn't made for me.
My BEST work is done when I’m helping LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC adults manage ADHD + anxiety/depression/relationships/trauma. I’m just so energized seeing people finding (& embracing!) their WHOLE selves while they: build the best support system, heal trauma, set boundaries and create lives where they can exist proudly, fully, confidently, and safely.

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
