Are you a young adult woman experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and even trauma? Self-discovery and creating/finding identity are goals I work best with. In my most recent job, I have found that domestic violence survivors and women who experience issues specific to being a woman have piqued my interest. As a therapist, the most rewarding thing is to guide women toward embracing themselves for who they are, heal past wounds, and empower them to live fully and authentically. I believe I have been given a purpose in this world to serve others, and that's what I was created to do.

I understand how issues relating to self esteem, depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, disordered eating, body image, work, relationships, parenting or other things can interfere with our ability to be our best selves.
My approach could be described as empathetic, genuine, relaxed, humorous (when appropriate!) and motivating. I use various methods to build insight, challenge self defeating thought patterns, and encourage self reflection. I can be creative with art, journaling, music and other forms of expression if traditional "talk therapy" feels difficult.

Life’s too damn short to keep just surviving day-to-day. If you look like you have it all together on the outside but feel yourself falling apart on the inside, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to keep going through the motions. Maybe you’re wrestling with constant anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, or burnout behind that put-together exterior. It might feel like you’re stuck in overdrive, always taking care of everyone else and barely keeping your head above water. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to stay that way. You deserve more than just getting by—let’s get you unstuck and back to truly living.

As a therapist, I believe people are inherently good and possess the capacity to overcome obstacles and thrive. My role is to facilitate the discovery of this potential within you. I recognize that childhood experiences, past trauma, and unhealthy relationships can shape our present, causing feelings of confusion and powerlessness. Using psychodynamic and somatic techniques, I help clients reconcile with their past and achieve autonomy. I believe therapy can be a short-term process, even for lifelong issues. My philosophy is simple: you don't have to endure one extra day of pain if we can help it.

I do individual and couple therapy. I am often a good fit for clients who want to integrate a spiritual perspective into therapy. By spiritual I mean living authentically, finding deep purpose, forgiving oneself and others, having compassion for yourself and others in the face of life's inevitable challenges, and seeing the sacred in the ordinary. I work with people of different faiths and those with no particular belief. I mix creativity, humor, and metaphors into therapy and encourage "daily practice for the rest of your life" to keep growth going long after therapy concludes. Check out some videos about my approach on my website.

I enjoy working with clients who may be struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, emotional management, poor self-esteem, experiencing grief and loss; who are motivated and open to change and doing homework, and who desire to be a healthier version of themselves.

None of my clients are failures or broken because they choose to come to counseling. In fact, I believe everyone grows up learning unspoken rules about what they should and shouldn’t do as a decent human being, when in reality, there’s a lot of rules that simply need to be readjusted. If you're currently struggling with your past, present, or future, let me take some of the burden off your shoulders. I currently am scheduling individual adults, couples, and college students. I especially love to help individuals struggling with relationships issues and folks with low self-esteem/confidence.

Congrats on taking a step towards positive and lasting change! We all deserve to experience that feeling of peace, comfort, and a purpose that lasts! It IS possible to have meaningful and thriving relationships. Working with adults and adolescents for over a decade, the clients I work with have admittedly benefitted from my warm, motivational, and genuine approach. I am not a therapist who wants to just smile and nod and tell you what you want to hear. I will always listen but apart of the change process will involve us discussing what you NEED to hear in an unconditional way that uplifts and enhances your overall well-being.

Have you ever felt like anxiety is taking over, making everything feel chaotic? Or maybe depression has left you feeling like nothing really matters? You're not alone, and there's hope. By understanding how our body and brain are connected, we can discover ways to cope. I have experience working with clients facing a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, and significant life transitions. My passion lies in helping individuals cultivate emotional space and self-compassion, especially during difficult times, as we tend to be our harshest critics.

As an openly Autistic and ADHD therapist, creating a space where you feel safe, heard, understood, and able to be your most authentic self is of utmost importance to me. As a trauma-informed therapist, I wholeheartedly believe that emotional healing thrives when relational safety, authenticity, transparency, compassion, collaboration, education, and feedback are consistently involved in the therapeutic process. We are all naturally wired for connection, and when years of disconnection and survival have overridden that wiring for connection, prioritizing rebuilding that drive for connection is imperative for emotional healing.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
