Diana's therapeutic framework includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Solution-Focused Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, among others.
Understanding yourself takes patience and compassion. I enjoy working with adults who struggle with feelings of isolation and being different from those around them due to learning disabilities, neurodivergent communication styles, or simply because they are introverted, sensitive, and quiet. For clients facing existential dread: lingering effects from the pandemic, social media toxicity, economic insecurity, or political chaos, I can help you identify what you find meaningful and purposeful. You can create a life for yourself that is joyous! I use an array of artistic and expressive methods to tap into your creativity.

Asking for help is an act of honesty and bravery.
Making the phone call can often times feel like the most difficult step toward healing. My aim is to minimize the fears and frustrations that can come with setting up an appointment. As a client, there can be feelings of vulnerability when with meeting someone new and sharing the most sensitive parts of your life. As a professional, I strive to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and respectful. I value viewing clients from a holistic perspective that considers the personal and diverse experiences that make an individual unique. Rather than masking symptoms, I support the journey of true healing.

I often integrate daily mindfulness practice, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT) in my work with clients.
I do individual and couple therapy. I am often a good fit for clients who want to integrate a spiritual perspective into therapy. By spiritual I mean living authentically, finding deep purpose, forgiving oneself and others, having compassion for yourself and others in the face of life's inevitable challenges, and seeing the sacred in the ordinary. I work with people of different faiths and those with no particular belief. I mix creativity, humor, and metaphors into therapy and encourage "daily practice for the rest of your life" to keep growth going long after therapy concludes. Check out some videos about my approach on my website.

Hello, I'm Brooke, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. My journey in mental health began with personal struggles early in life, which motivated me to volunteer as a crisis worker at a local suicide hotline during my first year of college. This experience ignited my passion for helping others, leading me to spend the next decade supporting individuals in dual diagnosis treatment. I later pursued my MSEd in counseling from Youngstown State University, graduating in 2017

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
