Relationships are the clients I am most passionate about working with. I thrive on facilitating healing and growth in the sacred space between two people, that special connection that can be so energizing and vital. I have discovered the joy of seeing not only relationships heal and grow, but also partners in relationships. Your relationship offers great potential for you and your partner. You were wounded in relationships earlier in life; we all were. Here is the good news: you can heal in your current relationship and so can your partner. The two of you can do the hard work; I can help!

I believe in personal empowerment and that we are never too old to learn something new. We all have unique experiences that have shaped our lives. I like helping people to look at things from a different perspective to achieve their goals. There is no "cookie cutter" approach to living life.

I have experience working with adolescents, adults, and seniors struggling with a variety of issues, including life transitions, OCD and other anxiety disorders, depression, and anger management.

The good news is that emotional regulation is a skill that can be improved! You can develop skills to better recognize and regulate your emotions and deal with distressing thoughts and feelings. You can learn to respond thoughtfully to situations rather than just reacting. We can work together to develop your ability to be in the moment and enjoy life.

My focus is on anxiety, depression, trauma, and SUD.
You're trying, but lately, it feels like your best isn’t good enough. You keep showing up, but wonder when life will finally slow down enough for you to catch your breath. Or maybe you're tired of trying, barely holding your head above water while things fall apart. Or, maybe life's pretty good, and all you need is a little support, accountability, and guidance to work towards your goals to be your greatest self. If you’re tired of overthinking, you lack motivation, or you're tired of holding it all in, you’re not alone. Together, we’ll find your footing, your peace, and a version of life that finally feels like yours.

I provide individual therapy for adults ages 18-65+, for clients in need of services for a range of concerns, including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, challenges within relationships, racial racial healing, stress, grief, and trauma.
I believe therapy should be tailored as a unique experience to fit the client, just as each client is unique. I see the process of therapy as holding a safe and sacred space, where a therapeutic alliance is built between client and therapist, enabling clients to express themselves authentically, share their struggles, create goals, and overcome obstacles; leading each person to be the best version of themselves. As a therapist, I strive to be there each step of the way providing competence, support, and encouragement, to not only overcome obstacles, but to also help you find meaning in the journey.

I have experienced firsthand the impact of mental health on my life and has chosen to be present for others facing adversity. I offer counseling with a person-centered approach, in which my clients are human beings (with amazing talents!) above all else. I recognize the majority of achieving change and self-compassion must begin on a solid foundation – the therapeutic relationship.

If you experience sexual pain, performance anxiety, or want to recover from trauma in your past or betrayal in your relationship, I have experience working with people like you, and I love it.
You honor your vows, but do you honor your needs? Silence in the bedroom doesn’t mean peace—it often means pain that’s never been voiced. In therapy I will get you talking about what you want and don't want in the bedroom. It doesn't have to be awkward. Imagine yourself talking confidently about sex. I can get you there!

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
