Feeling anxious and overwhelmed may seem like your normal, but I assure you that you were not created to live that way. Peace and contentment is very possible given the right skills and support. Perhaps feeling stuck or trapped is where you have been lately and it is affecting other areas of your life where you are not living as your best self. Relationships can be hard especially if we have stressors weighing us down so we feel even more defeated. Feeling good about yourself and others is very possible as most people were not given the coping strategies needed and survival is where many people are at. You don't have to be.

If these years have taught us anything, it’s the realization that in an instant life can happen and really shake some shit up! As the days continue, it seems as though this is becoming more and more a reality, while watching dreams, expectations, visions and plans change or be eliminated. No matter the trigger, the goal of counseling is to engage these experiences with a supportive, strength based, experienced, and compassionate clinician. As such, Arin takes her role with guidance very seriously; finding the use of enlightenment, growth and information to support one’s ability to live/view their reality as it's being edited.

I offer Christian counseling as an option for those who seek faith-based guidance, while welcoming individuals of all backgrounds.
When anxiety gets loud, it can drown out closeness and joy—therapy can help you find your calm and connection again. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, stress, relationship struggles, or just feel lost, know that you don't have to navigate these difficulties alone. In our work together, my priority is to create a space where you feel understood and supported. I’m here to listen without judgment and to help you make sense of what you're going through. We will explore your feelings, identify patterns that might be holding you back, and work towards meaningful change.

Your relationship is not what you want it to be. Conflict rarely is resolved, and both of you end up feeling undervalued, unheard, and unloved. Intimacy has long been absent and you are just don't know how to get it back . The space between seems to grow each day, and mending your strained relationship has started to feel hopeless. You ask yourself, “What happened? I did everything I was ‘supposed’ to do, so why do I feel so broken?" You don’t have to stay stuck in pain or distance. I am here to help guide you and your partner through the rocky terrain.

Life throws many twists and turns in our direction and sometimes we may need a helping hand to navigate us through it. No one should have to face difficult times on their own, and we should have a safe place to share them. My goal as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to help you process through these decisions in order to holistically grow as a person. Through counseling, I will utilize an eclectic approach by incorporating ACT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and person-centered interventions. I work with various populations with the mindset of valuing cultural diversity and acceptance of others.

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
