My approach is strengths-based, compassionate, and flexible—drawing from modalities like CBT, ACT, play therapy, and EMDR.
Are you seeking clarity about attention, learning, or social differences? Are you a high-masking or high-achieving adult who has internalized your challenges over the years, but always wondered about your neurotype? Navigating the world as a neurodivergent person—or as the parent of a neurodivergent child—can bring unique questions and challenges. As an experienced psychologist specialized in Autism, ADHD, and learning differences, I offer a safe, and affirming space for individuals and families to explore concerns, receive comprehensive and insight-oriented diagnostic evaluations, and access strengths-based services.

My ideal clients are individuals seeking meaningful change who want to feel truly heard, understood, and supported. They often come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, burned out, or disconnected from themselves, others, or their direction in life. Many are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, or emotional patterns that no longer serve them. I provide a compassionate, collaborative, and judgment-free space where clients gain insight, build practical coping skills, and build confidence to move forward with greater clarity, balance, and purpose.

Many adults start therapy when trauma, grief, chronic pain, or emotional stress begin affecting daily life, relationships, or their ability to feel stable and grounded. I work with adults who want practical support and a place to talk openly about what they are going through. Before becoming a therapist, I served as both a registered nurse and a military officer. Those experiences shaped how I understand resilience, stress, and the connection between physical health and emotional well-being. They also guide the way I approach therapy—with respect, directness, and a focus on the whole person.

I am a counselor and a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard. This has lent me a unique therapeutic style: balancing respect and discipline with warmth and flexibility. It is my belief and confidence that each and every person is capable of making choices and decisions that are right for them, especially in regard to their culture, race, ethnicity, disability, and/or identity. In my experience, I have found that the most successful clients are the ones who have a desire for change, and are motivated to work for it and ask for help when needed. My hope is that my clients feel empowered throughout therapy.

I use logotherapy techniques, DBT, strength based approaches, and ACT.
Do you feel life is full of anxiety and depression? Do you feel you are struggling with a sense of meaning in this busy world? Maybe you feel triggered and that your past keeps tripping you and you don’t know why. Shame is also something you may experience. It can come and go in waves and often gets in the way of being able to move forward and bring up past hurts and traumas. What is happening is happening, that is okay, it is normal, and know you are not alone. Anxiety, depression, and trauma pulls us away from who we are. Walking together, we will explore these feelings to help you rediscover who you are.

Self care is not selfish. We often believe that taking care of others before we take care of ourselves is the way it should be. But, if you are not taking care of yourself, who will? Do you have enough left to take care of your needs? Self care is more than eating, working, or bathing yourself every day. Self care is about taking care that your mental and emotional needs are being met. I want to help you to help yourself in getting your emotional and mental health needs met.

I integrate approaches including ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), EMDR, CBT (long-term skills) and ACT (values work) to help clients move beyond insight alone and begin creating meaningful, lasting change.
You may appear high functioning on the outside while internally feeling overwhelmed, stuck in overthinking, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, or patterns you can’t seem to break. Many of my clients are insightful and self-aware, yet still feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or trapped in cycles of fear, self-criticism, or avoidance.

It's not uncommon to feel overwhelmed, unsure of yourself and your ability to maintain relationships and afraid of failure. These fears can lead to deep doubts, a sense of disconnection, distress and loneliness. Isn't it ironic that, young and old, the #1 most consistent fact of life--change, is also the #1 challenge with which we struggle? Figuring out how to be a person, in relation to yourself and other people, with expectations, in a world that keeps changing sometimes seems to ask more of us than we feel like we have.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
