About
When I decided to pursue a career as a therapist I did so because I wanted to make the world a better place, and decided to do that by helping one person at a time . My primary approach to mental health counseling is the Person -Centered approach . This means I believe that no one knows you better than you know yourself. It is my job to help you identify goals , improve communication , strengthen self-esteem and develop solutions and coping skills. During the counseling process you are in the driver's seat, I am just a GPS to help you on the road to better mental health. However, I'm not closed to other counseling approaches.
I will help you to deal with you r issues in a safe, non-judgmental, affirming and effective environment , regardless if that environment is in a person or via telehealth. More than 1 in 6 adults is living with some sort of mental illness and there need be no stigma in seeking help . I am eager to work with clients of all types, facing any variety of issues.
Clients I work with have issues with anxiety, depression, teen and adult ADHD and victims of narcissistic abuse. I am taking coursework at the Sexuality Training Institute to obtain my AASECT certification as a sex therapist. I have a focus on all types of sexual issues. I enjoy working with those who identify as sexual minorities including LGBTQ+.
