Adulting is hard is one of the most consistent messages, whether it's coming from a Tiktok video or from the people we care about. Having witnessed the persons struggle through detoxing, trying to figure out how to be really seen and heard by their partner without repeating the same conflict patterns, wrestling with depression about the past and/or anxiety about the future, I agree with the messages. I've also been there when someone in recovery reunites with their community, partners work to repair their relationship, and people who've been weighed down for years experience some relief. That type of outcome is what I work towards.

Life can have a variety of challenges that can make us feel stuck. Whether it is current stressors or past events, sometimes we need help. I work with many concerns including depression, anxiety, dissociation, trauma, life transitions including entering or exiting college and grad school, and relationships. I believe my role is to offer exploration through tools, curiosity and support to move towards healing. I held trauma focused positions, including supporting survivors of sexual assault and adult survivors of childhood trauma. I have a passion for working with queer folks, nonbinary folks, and trans individuals.

You will work with me in a safe, caring and confidential environment. The focus of our work could be on specific goals or long-standing concerns such as, family of origin issues or past-unsolved trauma. The ultimate goal is to help you heal, grow, and re-engage in a productive, personally fulfilling life.

I want to help you create a life worth living and a life worth sharing. I want to help you create a life worth sharing. Over the years, therapists have focused on diagnoses, like depression or anxiety. Plum Behavioral's Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) class seeks to treat the core of the problem for some, excessive self-control (overcontrol, or OC). We work to help you improve your social signaling (what others see) so that you might form stronger social bonds, enriching your life and helping you share the best of you with others.

My ideal client is someone open to the process of therapy. Someone who is willing to show up for themselves, and “put in the work”. My client may be someone dealing with anxiety, depression, or challenges of ADHD, such as Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria. My client may be feeling in a rut or “stuck” in personal aspects of their life. My client may be challenged by different phases and stages of life, by not feeling capable or feeling easily overwhelmed. They want to engage in therapy and work on achieving their personal goals in a space where they are seen, heard, validated and encouraged.

Hello, I value good customer service and so I am doing in-person only. My clients appreciate this. It is the only way, I feel, we can spend quality time together. Healing the inner child is a process that combines work on the mind, body and spirit. If we focus only on one aspect of this process, we are continuing to neglect that which has brought harm to us. We are only healing one half or one third of our whole being. Being brave enough to consider psychotherapy is a step toward choosing to become a better person, (or partner) choosing to heal or nurture your soul.

From time to time we all experience life challenges that can benefit by communication with another. Speaking our challenge can give rise to better self awareness, understanding and resolution. I offer a safe environment to process, examine and grow as a result. I believe that each of us has a preferred communication lens I I utilize that preference to better communicate with each person with whom I sit. I am trained in multiple protocols but do not believe that one size fits all.

I have extensive training with most psychological disorders and relationship issues through use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition, I have developed a specific interest in treating obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and all other anxiety disorders. During my training and practice, I have gathered experience in both intensive and traditional outpatient settings. If you want a clinician who strives to understand exactly what you are going through, you will be happy to know that I have personal experience with seeking and receiving help through therapy. YOU are my focus.

How can I find a therapist in Columbus?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
