I also have specialized training in EMDR, somatic mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems.
Healing begins with being seen. In a world where isolation, grief, and burnout are all too common, I offer a space grounded in presence, trust, and empathy, where all parts of you are welcome. Whether you’re processing the effects of early neglect, trauma, or the chronic weight of being “the strong one,” this is a space where your needs are no longer sidelined. Clients often describe our work together as grounding, collaborative, and deeply human. I aim to meet you right where you are, with empathy.

I am a somatic trauma therapist with an attachment focus.
I specialize in healing trauma. I believe that we all deserve relief from the trauma we didn't ask for. When the past continues to impact our current life, it obstructs us from relational satisfaction, with others and ourselves. I want to help you understand what happened, how it affected you, and how to move your life toward the direction you want it to go.

My approach utilizes evidence-based methods such as CBT, CFT, mindfulness-based interventions, breath work, somatic psychotherapy, and EMDR.
Deciding to seek support through counseling takes courage, and the process of finding the right therapist can be intimidating. Building a trusting relationship with a therapist can take time and I understand how difficult it can be to be vulnerable. We will work together to find an approach best suited for your unique challenges and goals. I work with adults challenged by the impact of trauma, PTSD, suicide loss, grief, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and stress.

I prefer a combination of mindfulness and somatic therapies with a self-compassion focus that can assist with less anxiety, pain, insomnia and burnout.
I support neurodivergent and LGBTQ adults who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just plain exhausted from trying to fit into molds and masks that don’t work for them. The good news is, you’re not broken, and you’re not alone. Our nervous systems aren’t meant to handle this much alone, and you deserve to feel more confidence and ease. Together, we’ll find ways to bring in more calm and self-compassion—without trying to “fix” you, but rather help build on your strengths. I also gladly offer assessments and letters for gender affirming surgery, along with ongoing support if needed, before and post surgery.

My approach utilizes somatic awareness, interpersonal process, and attachment theory with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship.
I believe that “trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.” I work with those who have experienced various forms of trauma, including shock, developmental, medical, relational, and religious trauma. I also work with those experiencing forms of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and those experiencing systemic and cultural forms of oppression. I believe that everyone has the right to a nurturing and supportive space, and I strive towards the ongoing creation of an inclusive environment for all.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
