We can easily become overwhelmed in todays environment with all of the pressures to be successful (i.e. family and employment) and become in need of a safe, calm space to breathe. Therapy offers a place to pause—somewhere to release the stress of work, family, relationships, and the many psychosocial challenges that come with modern life. By addressing these needs in a supportive environment, individuals can regain a sense of balance and move toward living the satisfying, meaningful life they deserve. For a consultation or to schedule an appointment, please contact me at your convenience.

We live in a fast-paced world with lots of distractions, temptations, and negativity. It can be hard to reach out for help when these issues begin to overwhelm your life. Many of my clients come to me because they are stressed out (anxiety from work, school, family) and need a new perspective. My main priority is to help my clients sort through these everyday challenges and help implement positive change. Whether you are having challenges within your relationships, grieving the loss of a loved one, or dealing with any sort of stress or anxiety, allow me to help walk you through this journey.

I imagine things may feel a bit off right now, and that's okay. It's all just information, and sorting through it together is exactly where we start. I'm Quayla! Most of my clients are holding a lot together on the outside, but something underneath isn't quite sitting right. Maybe it's a relationship that's gotten harder to navigate, a major life change, or a pattern you keep finding yourself in no matter how hard you try to break it. You know something needs to shift. That's enough to get started.

Attempting to raise children and teenagers in this world is tough. At times, it feels like you're in a constant battle. Their mental health worries you, but you fear you're saying or doing the wrong thing. Nothing seems to be working, and you don’t know what else to do. Or maybe you’re a young adult/college student trying to figure out who you are and what your place is in this world. You don’t know how to be an “adult”, and that leaves you feeling anxious and overwhelmed. I am passionate about walking beside you in that journey.

Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT) Therapists
What should I expect from rational emotive behavior therapy?
The therapist will work with the individual to recognize rigid thought patterns that sabotage goals and set them back. The objective is to identify, challenge and reframe negative thoughts and enable an individual to understand that they possess control over their emotions and their behavior. This therapy often emphasizes the use of reasoning and self-direction.

Is rational emotive behavior therapy effective?
Rational emotive behavior therapy is evidence-based and is highly effective. It helps a person reframe self-defeating or catastrophizing thoughts and gives them tools to approach a range of circumstances they may encounter post-therapy as well. REBT can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.

When do I know if I need treatment with rational emotive behavior therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with rigid, unreasonable thoughts that dwell in negativity, they may feel stuck. A rational emotive behavior therapist can help a person examine and change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior. This concise and concrete therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

How long does rational emotive behavior therapy last?
REBT therapy treatment is short-term and focused in nature. It can last for a set number of sessions, ending within a few weeks or months. Like any type of therapy, however, sessions depend on the individual, as well as the severity of their condition or problem. The individual may wish to ask the therapist about typical progress and how long they expect treatment to take.
