I have worked with many populations, including children, adults, and older adults who have been diagnosed with anxiety, phobias, depression, personality disorders, PTSD, and bipolar disorders.
You and I will discuss treatment goals during the first session, revisit them, and update them regularly. The modality choice will depend upon your needs and your comfort level. I am supportive but will also encourage you to try different techniques to better your situation.

My ideal client would be someone who desperately wants change and is ready to be curious, engaged, and deliberate with their growth. You would be open to creative and alternative approaches, and perhaps you've had many other 'failed' attempts at therapy. I enjoy complex cases, people trying to navigate difficult relationships, and being able to validate the struggles that you've been through. If you want to learn more about your mind, body, brain, past, and psyche and turn that knowledge into actionable steps toward wellness, we'll be a great fit!

Life is hard. Full stop. Sometimes we need help - an extended ear or friendly face to continue to deal with our daily stressors or big life changes. Taking the first step to seeking help takes courage. Let’s take a moment to celebrate this first achievement toward a happier, healthier you! We are often hardest on ourselves, and I believe that focusing inward and allowing ourselves grace and kindness can go a long way.

I have experience working with people experiencing attachment issues, complex trauma (CPTSD), religious trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, and relationship issues. My particular focus is on religious trauma due to the deep and often hidden scars it can leave that show up in our daily lives. I love being able to provide a safe space for clients to explore and process their experiences, recognizing the profound impact that religious environments and beliefs can have on an individual's mental health.

I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and self-harm behaviors.
I specialize in working with those who struggle with or love someone who struggles with understanding/regulating their feelings and anyone who has ever been confused about why they acted the way they did in that moment. Thoughts, feelings, and actions are complicated concepts and understanding why we do what we do in certain situations can be confusing. Working toward better understanding these concepts and learning tools to slow down our response times is invaluable to reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and feelings of being out of control.

Let's face it: healing can be hard work. There's nothing particularly glamorous about confronting emotions and patterns that are keeping you from flourishing. But here you are, making the choice to do something difficult because it's worth it - YOU'RE worth it! And finding the right therapist for you can help that commitment go even further. Maybe you're just here for some relatively minor recalibration; maybe you're looking for a more significant undertaking. Either way, I hope you can take a second to thank yourself for getting one step closer to where you want to be!

I'm fully licensed in both Ohio & Michigan. Currently offering both in-person and virtual sessions. To me, therapy is the act of helping people learn to experience their emotions safely in the moment, to be truly present and their genuine selves as they go about their day. I work with people to bring awareness to the impact of the past, to make conscious the connections and patterns that inform our everyday experience so that they can decide whether they want to continue with them or if they want to try something new. Therapy is the practice of getting to know yourself and working out what’s best for you.

Do you find yourself missing your spark? Do you find that your moods have control over your life? Do you find yourself in this never-ending cycle of shame and trying to escape through unhealthy ways? Many people have found themselves stuck in this story and feeling numb to it all. This can rob you of joy and take away your spark. I think one of the bravest things you can do is to begin to understand your story. Using a strength- based and collaborative approach, I can offer you the space to rewrite your story into one of empowerment and resilience.

It’s hard work to understand the impacts our past has on our present. It can feel overwhelming and impossible to process our experiences on our own. We can have the awareness of why we feel and act certain ways, but have difficulty making the changes we want. I help my clients understand the “why” behind their distressing experiences. I care about getting to know my clients and learning what’s important to them. My goal is for you to feel understood, safe, and more connected to your authentic self. It’s important to me to have a genuine and collaborative approach and use humor as a way to regulate together.

Personality Disorders Therapists

What are the common treatment options for personality disorders?

Personality disorders are typically treated with psychotherapy, sometimes in conjunction with medication. Therapy can help people with personality disorders develop skills to tolerate difficult emotions, navigate interpersonal relationships, and solidify their sense of self. Medications can treat symptoms that co-occur with the disorder, such as depression, anger, aggression, and impulsivity.

When to seek treatment for personality disorders?

Even though treatment for personality disorders can be an uphill battle, it’s best to seek help if you suspect that you or a loved one is struggling with one, because personality disorders can create substantial problems in life. Symptoms depend on the specific disorder, but overall signs of personality disorders include consistent difficulty maintaining close relationships, dramatic variations in self-esteem, and an unstable sense of identity.

How long does therapy take for personality disorders?

The timeline for treating personality disorders isn’t as clear-cut as it is for other disorders. Change can be difficult, taking from around one year to five, 10, or more. The key is finding a therapist who has extensive experience treating the relevant disorder. For example, a psychologist who specializes in narcissistic personality disorder has specific communication strategies that allow them to sustain the relationship and be more effective with narcissistic patients.

Can therapy help people with personality disorders?

Research suggests that for those who are motivated to address concerns or interpersonal conflict related to a personality disorder, therapy is far more effective than no treatment, and that most people in therapy see improvements. However, since personality disorders involve entrenched elements of identity, they are less responsive to treatment than are other mental health conditions. Finding an expert who has extensive experience working with a given personality disorder is one factor that increases the likelihood of successful treatment.
