I help parents make sense of what's happening in their child's brain and body, understand what's developmentally typical, and get to the root of their child's challenges — so together we can develop a plan for moving forward.
Is your child struggling with big emotions that feel too overwhelming to manage? Are they lashing out, having meltdowns, refusing to follow directions, or simply shutting down? Even seemingly small things can trigger strong anxiety or anger—and while your child might hold it together at school, home can feel like an emotional battlefield. You may feel exhausted, worried, and unsure how to help your child. It might seem like you’ve tried everything, and you just feel stuck. You don't have to navigate this alone.

I offer in-person counseling for teens, young adults, and parents as well as online parent-coaching for parents of children 12 and under who are struggling to manage behaviors in the home.
I'm both a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Special Education Intervention Specialist. I've been teaching/supporting in the K-12 public system for 24 years, which gives me a unique perspective when addressing concerns around behaviors and mental health for families as well as teachers/administrators. By aligning with you and/or your family - not as a director, but as a partner, collaborator and coach - we can work as a team to develop effective strategies to address issues with behavior, academics, relationships, identity, work stress, professional issues, and family conflicts.

There are times to cope and there are times to heal. I am passionate about helping clients “do the work” of healing past wounds, limiting mindsets, and whatever else keeps them from being as healthy, whole and happy as possible. I believe in being gentle with one’s self especially in the work of healing. My desire is to help clients work WITH their internal system to move toward greater internal harmony which I believe gives them access to more of their personal power, happiness and freedom.

I provide pediatric behavioral services, virtual Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and trauma‑focused therapy for young people, with sensitivity to culture, identity, generational patterns, and systemic bias.

Many families come to me feeling overwhelmed, unsure how to support their child, seeking care that truly understands their cultural context. I specialize in early childhood behavioral therapy and family‑centered trauma care, helping young people feel seen and helping caregivers feel encouraged as they build stronger, more connected relationships.

I work with neurodivergent adults, trauma survivors, couples, and parents navigating identity, relationships, and change.
Many of my clients carry a quiet sense that something has always felt different or off-script. Some are autistic or ADHD and have spent years adapting to systems that never truly saw them. Others are navigating trauma, grief, or identity shifts, often without clear names or obvious scars. They want clarity, self-trust, and a way forward that reflects who they really are. Therapy with me is about honoring that complexity and building something real, no performance required.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
