It’s amazing how different
life
can look when we shift our focus. A fresh perspective and a change of perception can go a long way for old habits and patterns of thinking. Renewing our minds is transformative! Whether this a tough season for you or you feel like you’ve been in the wilderness all of your
life
, change can happen. Truth be told, counseling is hard work. Showing up for yourself is hard and confronting areas you need to change is hard. Staying the same is hard…to all of that, we do our best to "choose our hard"! You don't have to do this alone! Relationship concerns? Anxiety? Depression? Divorce, etc? All of the above?

While I use research-based counseling, I also know that a one size fits all approach will not work, because people have different
life
stories and experiences.
While I'm not accepting new clients, our other clinicians have openings. See our website to find a therapist that is a good fit for you.

Hey, Hey, Hey Strong Friend! How are you really doing? Are you tired of being sick and tired? Overwhelmed with trying to figure
life
out on your own? Does it seem like one thing after another continues to take place and you just can't seem to get a hold on any situation. Are you looking for the right skills, strategies and routines? Do you wish that there was someone in your
life
like YOU, someone that just gets it? Someone caring and concerned, willing to just listen and provide you with the feedback necessary to help you go from surviving to thriving.

In exploring conceptions like morality, dignity, sense of self, and more you can purposefully manifest the
life
you want.
A myriad of reasons can lead someone to therapy. What if you aren't necessarily struggling, but you just want to know yourself better? Maybe you're an intellectually curious person who's tried to make sense of things for a while, but you aren't necessarily ill. Therapists can be unsure how to work with this as they're often pathology-based. Philosophy, which ponders the deeper "whys" of things, can help--but it can be overwhelming without a guide. We, as a team, can examine where you are and where you want to go to better refine your personal goals.

life

life
WILL happen to you, but YOU get to CHOOSE how to respond!.
Hello and welcome! My name is Andre' Carpenter. I help people by being a soundboard for them to bounce their thoughts and ideas off of. I help people who have goals, create and execute plans to achieve those goals. I help marriages that are either just beginning, hitting a bump in the road or downright falling apart. There are some of you who need a coach to help you get from point A to point B. Sometimes, people just need someone to talk to and I am here in that moment to just listen. Bottom line is I do my best to help people in whatever way I can, find their love, their peace, their happy!

With the ability to provide online therapy sessions to residents in Ohio, I make therapy flexible to fit into your busy
life
& you have the convenience to be in the comfort of your own home.
Do you feel worthless, not good enough and insecure? To everyone else you appear happy & have yourself together. If they only knew how much strength it is taking for you to put a smile on your face each day. You look in the mirror & think you don’t deserve happiness, because all you are used to is disappointment & pain. You experience a sharp tightness in your chest & it feels like a ton of bricks weighing you down. Your mind seems cloudy due to your thoughts racing, screaming at you that you’re not good enough. You blame yourself for your past & feel you deserved being hurt. You don't feel beautiful and fear steps in your way.

I am currently accepting clients. I believe it is important to find a good fit when seeking a therapist so let me tell you a little bit about my approach and what methods I use to help people. My approach is best described as open, whole-person, strength-based, barrier solving, collaborative and growth-oriented. My goal for everyone is simple: for them to get help, grow, and move on. If you are feeling anxious, stressed out, sad, stuck, frustrated, tired of conflict, uncertain about transitions into adulthood or midlife, I believe we would be a good match.

You likely have burning questions about your love
life
. Singles ask: how can I make my Bumble profile stand out? Should I prioritize compatibility or chemistry with potential partners? How do I start over after divorce? Dating + engaged couples ask: should we move in together? Why does she still talk about her ex? Is this guy husband-material? Married spouses ask: why do we keep having the same fight? Is it wrong that I'm attracted to other people? What happened to our sex
life
? Poly partners ask: are we doing this right? Should we meet each other's partners? How do I handle jealousy?

I am a goofy professional who supports serious female athletes. I was a collegiate rugby and hockey player, high school soccer player, long-time Irish Dancer, and current Olympic Weightlifter. So I understand sport! I'm ready to support you if you are passionate about your sport, and want to grow. This may come as a result of not knowing how to navigate injury, experiencing a lack of playing time, an overall lack of confidence, or frustration at the repetitiveness of the process. You aren't someone who struggles with motivation, just someone who needs
coaching
as much on the brain game as the rest of the game.

Although I believe that the past (which we will definitely delve into during the therapeutic process) is instrumental in making sense of “how we got to where we are now”, the primary focus is about exploring and analyzing your present situation, while discussing various tools that will significantly help improve your confidence to manage your every day
life
.
I identify as an out gay male therapist who has helped thousands of individuals over the course of a 25-year career in mental health. As an avid seeker over the past 30 years, I vehemently believe that I work best with clients who are dedicated to self-awareness and truth because they value the concept of "To Thine Own Self Be True". These individuals have an eager willingness to look within themselves rather than insist on changing others to alleviate suffering/pain within self-imposed prisons. I am very passionate about what I do. I thoroughly enjoy facilitating challenging, interactive CBT/Solution-Focused, “modern-day therapy."

What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.
Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.
Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.
How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
