The primary model I am trained in is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples having completed the externship and all core skills.
I am trained in evidence based models that target emotional experiences to restructure relationships and activate healing. I assist couples by creating an environment that safely moves people towards one another allowing for new and life changing bonding experiences. With individuals, I welcome all parts of each person as they learn to befriend, understand, embrace, and lead themselves. Because I view people as "stuck" and not "sick," it is my hope to be a part of your journey in getting unstuck. Please click the button under my picture to go to my website and find out more!

My training in Marriage and Family Systems and Emotionally Focused Therapy will help to understand and repair your relationships.
You want to feel better and you don't know where to start. You feel afraid, angry, overwhelmed, lost, and, depressed most of the time. Maybe your marriage is unfulfilling, your teenagers and kids drive you crazy, or you can't even name what it is that feels so awful. You don't know how to show up, or how to fix things, and you are tired yet, the idea of contacting a therapist might be terrifying. I understand that it can be hard to seek help, but it might change your life.

We may be a good fit if you struggle with relationship challenges, family of origin, people pleasing, a biting inner critic, self-worth, anxiety, life transitions, or mood management. I work with individuals and couples, most of whom are women and/or LGBTQIA+ folx. (Note: I am unable to schedule new couples at this time.) My therapy style is informed by attachment theory, parts work, emotionally focused therapy, family systems theory, and best practices in trauma treatment. Through gentle curiosity and candor, I help untangle patterns that don't serve you well, and strengthen habits based on your values.

Creating successful relationships and lives as an adolescent, adult or couple is one of the central challenges we all face. I am a Gestalt based psychotherapist who works to help clients discover their potential and explore the blocks that may be getting in their way. My work starts with the premise that each of us has within us what we need to live grounded and fulfilling lives. My goal with clients is to help them build awareness to what is occurring in the moment as a springboard for potential change. Through process oriented therapy, I believe we all can get through challenges that emerge in life.

Emotionally Focused Therapists
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an approach to therapy that helps clients identify their emotions, learn to explore and experience them, to understand them and then to manage them. Emotionally Focused Therapy embraces the idea that emotions can be changed, first by arriving at or 'living' the maladaptive emotion (e.g. loss, fear or shame) in session, and then learning to transform it. Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples seeks to break the negative emotion cycles within relationships, emphasizing the importance of the attachment bond between couples, and how nurturing of the attachment bonds and an empathetic understanding of each others emotions can break the cycles.
