My clinical approaches are as follows:
Attachment-Based
Therapy, CBT, DBT, Existential Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-focused.
Being able to recognize our own strengths and how we have used those strengths to succeed in the past, can be a useful tool in reducing acute symptoms of anxiety, depression, and many other mental health concerns. Long-term, I work with clients in hopes of building the confidence and skill set to move forward knowing that they are more than capable of managing anything that life throws your way. I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person, and that every person has the ability within themselves to not only enact change, but be their very own change agent.

I utilize an
attachment-based
, trauma-informed approach to bring healing and well-being.
I specialize in helping relationships heal and thrive. I work with both couples and individuals in healing from trauma, working towards well-being, and finding inner peace so that they can show up more authentically in their relationships with themselves and others. Therapy is a space for self reflection and growth, which can be very uncomfortable and vulnerable. I hope to provide you a safe and deeply present therapeutic experience in order to support you in your healing and empower you toward courageous, open-hearted connection with yourself and in your relationship.

Do you have a history of childhood trauma that's affecting your present? Have you tried traditional therapies and found that you're actually feeling worse?! If you have debilitating symptoms (e.g., self-hatred, dissociation, overwhelming depression, panic, or suicidality) or intense diagnoses (CPTSD, DID, BPD) and past therapy hasn't helped, I offer a radical new take. It helps address the root causes of your struggles, not just treat the symptoms. It involves deeper, richer work that offers real and lasting change. I'm only taking on Group Therapy clients.

My ideal client would be someone who could struggle with any number of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, career issues, self-esteem, life transitions, and many more. My ideal client would be open to multiple methods of treatment and willing to try new things in and outside of the session. I would like to work with clients who are hoping to manage their symptoms, accept help, and be engaged in their healing. These individuals put in the work needed in and outside of the session and that helps with therapeutic progress.

Do you feel trapped in a daily struggle with food and your appearance? Have you made countless attempts to break free only to find yourself back in the same battle? Maybe it is difficult to imagine yourself being free when your self-worth is so closely tied to your body size, or when your relationship with food feels so out of control and when society and social media dictates the way we should look. Living this way is exhausting and draining. You do not want to feel this exhausted anymore. You want to love yourself and your body.

I believe a fine tuned awareness of oneself is essential to overall well-being. I focus on supporting you in understanding your present problems in new ways and discovering novel, practical options you can take to increase satisfaction and reduce distress. I work to assist you in clarifying your personal needs and noticing what interferes with feeling fulfilled or grounded. Often times, action toward getting our needs met comes with considerable risk. I am here to help facilitate your growth process as you understand and work through patterns that interfere with well-being but often also function as helpful, self-protection.

Times of chaos, confusion, and challenge are opportunities for a shift in perspective and meaningful, long-lasting change. We don't often have a choice about challenging circumstances but we do get to choose how we respond and whether or not we grow stronger from the experience! Using a blend of traditional "talk therapy" and alternative therapies (such as mindfulness, somatic awareness, and creative expression) we collaborate for my clients' restoration of their natural wellness in mind, body, and spirit. I can help you become your best self!

Every human has a unique and sacred story, and to tell that story with your whole heart is one of the most critical and beautiful components of growth and wellness. To have the bravery to tell it requires, at the very least, a feeling of psychological safety. My primary goal – in alliance with you – is to create an environment of safety in which trust can grow. And through that trust to experience the freedom to be (and maybe even find) your authentic self. I want to communicate hope, value, and change to my clients who are in the midst of an experience of suffering, and will walk alongside of you in your journey towards your goals.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
