I help late 20s single women learn to love themselves and manifest their aligned relationship. I know how painful it can be when you deeply desire a romantic relationship but don't have it yet. There can be so much self-doubt, anxiety , and uncertainty. Maybe you keep ending up in the same noncommittal relationships. Maybe you keep ending up with the same kind of unavailable partners who can't generously give you the love and care that you truly deserve. If this is you, please know that there is a way forward. Dating with confidence and creating a healthy relationship is an inside job, so YOU hold the power to change.

Does is feel like life is a treadmill and you're going over and over the same territory but never getting anywhere? Whether it's an intimate relationship that is stuck on the same issues, an addictive behavior that you can't seem to break out of, or a neurotic pattern of depression or anxiety that robes life of its joy, sometimes life can be discouraging, and trying harder in the same way brings only more frustration.

I have experience in areas of depression, anxiety , adjustment to major life stressors, loss and trauma.
My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that each individual is an expert regarding their own life and experiences. With that, I aim to collaborate with individuals in increasing awareness around their own strengths that can then be utilized as tools to create change to promote self empowerment and positive mental health outcomes.

Addiction, anxiety and trauma are all areas of focus in my practice as well.
"The only thing constant is change." Life is full of moments that require major adjustments to how we live, think, and act in the world. These times of adjustment can often be stressful, even painful. On the other hand, there exists enormous opportunity for growth during these times of change.

You don't have to live this way and it's not your fault! For over 25 years, I've been helping women just like you heal from past traumas, reduce anxiety and depression and go on to live healthier and more balanced lives.
As a woman, you have lots of roles and responsibilities...between work, family and friends, you try your best to be there for everyone and that can feel overwhelming. Worry thoughts creep in and play in a constant loop in your head. You may feel called to unhealthy behaviors that provide a temporary moment of peace. You've tried to talk yourself out of your negative thoughts but it doesn't last. You've become used to that tightness in your body and pit in your stomach. What you really want is to feel relaxed (maybe even enough to get a good night's sleep) and enjoy your life.

In addition to peering through a developmental lens, I use CBT tools that work in the shorter term to improve mood and reduce anxiety .
I love working with people who are curious about the world, and who turn their curiosity inward, too. My clients tend to be thoughtful, expressive people often at the cusp of changing the way that they relate to themselves and others. I help my clients, regardless of age, background, field of study or work, address the low mood and worry that keep them from moving toward more fully realizing their goals.

Is it hard to turn off your worries? Are your thoughts intrusive and distressing? Do you feel they control you? Everyone worries at some point, of course, but it’s when the thoughts won’t go away, or you find yourself stuck in them, I can help you. Having anxiety isn’t a hopeless situation (no matter what your head may be telling you.) Far from it. My specialties and expertise are focused on treating adults and children who have anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders, are going through life transitions (like life after divorce), or who would like help with their parenting skills.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
