My primary speciality is working with adolescents and young adults, but I enjoy collaborating with anyone who is facing the challenges of building a meaningful life in an often uncertain and confusing world. I currently see a lot of young adults who are adjusting to post-college life. I have a profound respect for the complexity of each individual's journey. I will do my best to really understand where you are coming from, so that we can work together to find a path forward that meets your needs and makes sense to you.

You find yourself at a crossroads, frustrated by the present state of things but unsure of the future. The challenge of daily stressors impacting your ability to concentrate, causing irritability, and lowered patience has brought you to this point of no return. You're resilient, but tired of having to go at it alone and are ready for better tools, guidance, and an advocate to help you along the way. Things have to change, but you need help with prioritizing yourself, setting healthy boundaries, and finding a healthy balance. The most challenging step is the first one, and you’ve taken it just by looking for the help you need.

It’s all overwhelming and you’re sick of staying stuck in the same, seemingly never-ending cycle. For a while, maybe a long while, you found ways to cope. With the stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, however your emotional pain manifests. You found your ways, kept your head above water, and it has worked ok for a time. But now the toll of it all has added up. You are tired of Groundhog Day, you want and deserve more.

Hard or traumatic experiences can leave kids, teens, and young adults feeling anxious, with low self-esteem, unsure of how to cope with everything life throws their way. They might wonder how to move on or might feel as though things are pointless. Therapy with me offers a space to feel safe, supported, and not so alone in whatever you’re going through.

I have helped people with relationships, stress, anxiety, addiction and substance abuse, depression, and bipolar disorder. I have real interests in relational issues, especially the incredible upheaval of parenting. My goal is your goal—long-term improvement and success, a return to how things "used to be". I recognize that with mental health, sometimes the first strategy doesn’t work, and we will leverage that as a learning opportunity to help improve your symptoms. My goal is for you to not need me any more. As you build yourself up, we will discuss the end or warning signs to reach out for help.

Are you hurting so much that you're wondering if living is really worth all this pain? It hurts so bad that it feels physical; you can feel it in your gut. You don't let those closest to you know what's going on because no one gets it; no one can help. Sometimes you feel completely out of place, like you don't belong here. Everything hurts so much and you can't stand it anymore. You keep looking for ways to take it all away. You don't deserve to hurt like this anymore. And you don't have to. It's time to take control of your emotions so your emotions stop controlling you.

Hi, I'm Hend Aldosari. Thanks for checking out my profile! I'm from Saudi Arabia and came to the U.S. to study counseling. I recently earned my PhD in Counseling from the University of Cincinnati and also have a Master’s in Counseling from Xavier University. When people ask what makes me happy, I say meeting new people and hearing their stories is a true blessing. I believe we all have the power to heal ourselves, but it can be hard to see that in tough times. That’s where I come in. I listen, guide, and uncover the tools you already have to help you take steps toward change.

I enjoy working with any person who is motivated to overcome issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or more severe disorders. In my 26 years in practice as a psychologist, I am frequently reminded of the importance of not being so problem-focused that one forgets to look at the person's strengths, which are the most valuable tools for recovery and personal growth. I feel privileged to be invited by clients to join them on their journey of growth, healing and discovery.

*Currently offering telehealth appointments only* I work with adults and adolescents and have experience helping with a wide range of issues. The only prerequisite for therapy is that you or your loved ones are suffering and would like some help. Where appropriate and useful, I prefer to work intensively in an exploratory and supportive capacity to attend to long-standing and entrenched problems that seem resistant to change. If your goal is better self-understanding, enduring growth, and becoming more comfortable in your own skin, we may be a good match.

An effective therapist must have empathy and caring for his client, as well as the skills and knowledge to do the work. I believe my personality and values help me offer the first and my decades of work as well as training and supervising many other therapists have honed my abilities. I have experience in combining psychodynamic theories within a humanistic and supportive approach.

Therapy is a place for new beginnings. Beginning to learn about ourselves. Beginning to increase self-love and appreciation. Beginning to heal. I aim to meet each client where they are, with understanding and a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation. My specialty as a dual diagnosis therapist, which means I work with people who suffer from both mental health and substance use disorders, helps me to focus on helping people navigate life’s transitions.

I work with individuals and couples who have lost themselves somewhere along the way. I enjoy working with people who battle the not-so-everyday things. I am a calm presence, and I bring humor, adventure, and my unbridled weirdness into the mix. I know firsthand that life is messy, unpredictable, and often absurd. It’s in these moments that we have the opportunity to grow.

Hi, I’m Cat. Life can be messy, overwhelming, and confusing, and sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. You might feel stuck in old patterns, unsure of who you are, or like you’re carrying more than you can handle. I want you to know you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with both teens and adults in outpatient, inpatient, and community settings. I especially enjoy supporting young adults as they navigate the challenges of independence, identity, and transition.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Mount Auburn, Cincinnati?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
