With 15 years of practicing therapy, I understand that therapy is a unique experience for everyone. Because of that, there is not a one size fits all approach. You and I will work together to take a comprehensive look at factors in your life, both past and present, that contribute to what has lead you to reach out. As a certified EMDR therapist, pulling largely from the cognitive and somatic dance, I meet clients where they are at in a person-centered approach. In your work with me, we will carefully look for the ways you can come Full Circle and close those loops that may be keeping you stuck.

Online Only
Christian therapist licensed in Ohio and Tennessee, specializing in attachment-focused couples therapy and trauma therapy via online sessions.
You end up in the same situation with different people. You react before you think, shut down when you want to stay open. You manage everyone's emotions, three steps ahead, but internally barely holding it together. You believe the right things but still struggle with anxiety or self-control; wondering if your faith isn't strong enough. Attachment patterns and nervous system responses operate beneath what can you see, creating disconnection. Relationship anxiety, emotional shutdown, repeating conflicts: these are the patterns that need reconditioning. I understand what it feels like being stuck in patterns you can't interrupt.

I have experience working with children, teens, adults, and families through various life struggles and have focused on treating trauma/ PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, parenting issues, child/adolescent behavioral and mental health issues, and adults going through phase of life issues.
My favorite quote is from The Little Prince, "the eyes are blind. One must look with the heart." Often in the midst of our pain and struggle we react to circumstances with little or no thought. We allow ourselves to be directed by the world instead of identifying what we need and know in our heart. To identify what we need, know what our heart wants, and have a plan to follow is what therapy is all about. We must work through the pain to identify these things; accept that we deserve them, and develop a plan to achieve them.

Addiction is very often associated with past trauma, realized or not.
What would more joy and satisfaction in life be worth to you? Many people go through life unaware of their own intentions and motives, feeling as though life simply "happens to them." Through compassionate, nonjudgmental, and therapeutic exploration, I challenge and empower my clients to truly know themselves, deepen their faith, and gain a clearer understanding of their world and the people around them. Don't let life just happen to you—start living each day with purpose and intention.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
