I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, stress-related concerns, and emotional challenges that may feel overwhelming or difficult to manage alone. Many clients come to therapy seeking support during life transitions, after traumatic experiences, or while coping with mood and anxiety disorders. As a counselor trainee, I strive to provide a compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel heard, safe, and supported as they build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward long-term healing and personal growth.

Our approach to therapy is one in which our clients are viewed as resilient and resourceful. Our office is a place where change happens. I am now offering Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy to our practice. Horses are extremely intuitive animals and are able to help facilitate change on an emotional relational level that enhances the healing process.I have had a long interest in horses and find a healing effect to be activated when in their presence. This realization was probably the most important driving force that propelled me into this horse/person connection as a modality for treatment.

You end up in the same situation with different people. You react before you think, shut down when you want to stay open. You manage everyone's emotions, three steps ahead, but internally barely holding it together. You believe the right things but still struggle with anxiety or self-control; wondering if your faith isn't strong enough. Attachment patterns and nervous system responses operate beneath what can you see, creating disconnection. Relationship anxiety, emotional shutdown, repeating conflicts: these are the patterns that need reconditioning. I understand what it feels like being stuck in patterns you can't interrupt.

My ideal clients are people who feel stuck under the weight of stress, anxiety, grief, or trauma—whether the pain is recent or something they’ve carried for years. Many are high-functioning on the outside but internally feel depleted, on edge, or emotionally disconnected. They’re ready for practical, evidence-informed tools to calm the nervous system, make sense of what happened, and shift patterns that keep showing up in relationships, work, and daily life. Together, we work toward lasting change: greater clarity, steadier confidence, and a more grounded, integrated way of living.

You don’t have to carry the weight of life’s transitions, stress, or past experiences alone. My practice is rooted in a simple philosophy: therapy should be a safe harbor, not a rigid hierarchy. I prioritize creating a comfortable, relaxed environment where you can show up exactly as you are, without fear of judgment.

Part of "being in the solution" when times are difficult is what you are doing right now: looking for answers and the support to find them. Everyone is challenged by life events. My approach is holistic, meaning that I pay attention to all aspects of a person's experience including their physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well being.

Substance Use Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.
How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.
How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
