Our approach to therapy is one in which our clients are viewed as resilient and resourceful. Our office is a place where change happens. I am now offering Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy to our practice. Horses are extremely intuitive animals and are able to help facilitate change on an emotional relational level that enhances the healing process.I have had a long interest in horses and find a healing effect to be activated when in their presence. This realization was probably the most important driving force that propelled me into this horse/person connection as a modality for treatment.

I am a direct, no-nonsense professional who has devoted my 40+ year career to helping people improve their lives. I work with adults and seniors (individual/couples) who are motivated to change. I work with children and teens within the structure of their families to resolve communication and behavioral difficulties. I have extensive experience working with adoptive (Reactive Attachment) and step families. If you are frustrated trying to connect with someone you love, outside intervention can help. Most often, that which is experienced as an emotional impasse, is an opportunity for growth.

We are dedicated to providing accessible and specialized treatment for individuals who are experiencing difficult emotions and those who have been traumatized. Some of those we work with are contending with dissociation (“spaciness,” “fogginess,” losing time). We specialize helping adults who endured difficult childhoods, or who have encountered very distressing/confusing experiences. Over the course of treatment, we collaborate to boost insight, self-esteem, resiliency, flexibility, the ability to trust, as well as the capacity for humor and creative expression.

How long have you been living as if survival is still the only option? Many of the women I work with have spent years carrying responsibilities that were never truly theirs to hold. They may have grown up in families where boundaries were blurred, emotional needs were overlooked, or they learned that their worth came from taking care of others. As adults, these patterns can show up as people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, chronic guilt, relationship challenges, self-doubt, or feeling disconnected from their own needs and identity.

I approach care with the belief that mental health deserves the same attention, empathy, and expertise as any other medical condition. With training in family medicine and deep experience treating complex behavioral health concerns, I meet people where they are and walk with them toward sustainable healing. You’ll find a judgment-free space built on trust, where goals are realistic, progress is honored, and setbacks are never viewed as failure—just part of the journey.

Patients tell me that one of my biggest strengths is that I really listen very closely to them. It is extremely important for patients to feel seen and heard. The more closely I listen, the better I can focus on what is important to the patient and what symptoms I should target. I also work to introduce supplemental materials such as short stories, poems, art, and music into treatment plans as they can help patients relate to other people with similar conditions. I work to create a very relaxed atmosphere that allows us to communicate clearly with each other.

I find that many people just want to feel better, be happier, feel less anxious. They want to change their lives or at least become aware of their desire to improve the situation. I like the challenge of assisting people with self-limiting beliefs that can create anything less than a fulfilled and happy life. I enjoy helping people with their relationships, marital or otherwise and relish working with couples, helping them redefine their differences, improve communication and rejuvenate their intimacy, sexuaI and emotional.
