Working in both Clinical and Forensic psychology, I deliver targeted Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral (DBT) Therapies to diverse client populations, tailored to the specific needs of each individual. In addition, I treat violent and non-violent criminal offenders, sex offenders, perpetrators of domestic violence, and various other forensic populations.

By beginning your search for a therapist, you have already begun the therapeutic process. What do I mean by that? Well, your treatment begins with you. It is my feeling that all people have an innate need to succeed in life and to discover and better understand their human potential and purpose. It is also my feeling that the good work of looking inward plays an essential role in the evolution of the human spirit.

People are hostages of their unremembered past - past attachments, traumas, deprivations and coping strategies. Many of these strategies were necessary for survival and adaptation in the past, but later they became useless. When later in life the unremembered past is repeated, it limits a person's freedom, creativity and happiness. One usually needs help with understanding and undoing these old, repetitive and often ineffective strategies aimed at dealing with anxiety and life.

I have been where you are. Suffering is a right of passage. In my 30 years of experience as a child and adult clinical psychologist, I have developed a diverse set of assessment and therapeutic skills, allowing me to provide optimal care to children, adults and families. I am a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), and my specialties include helping families going through the difficulties of divorce, parent coordination, preserving a cooperative and collaborative environment to keep the children's best interests a priority, and conducting court-ordered custody evaluations. Attorneys and courts frequently request these services in order to help resolve child custody and parenting disputes.

I guide clients to gain insight and soulutions to their issues; emotions, life/relationship challenges and stressors. My experience and training uniquely qualify me to help guide individuals, spouses/partners, and couples struggling with sexual compulsivity issues, sexuality issues, affairs, co-dependency, and trauma. Also, I have extensive experience assisting clients navigate through the process of healing from divorce/relationship break-up. My approach with clients is empathic, solution focused and validating.

As a mental health professional, I’ve worked in the field of psychology for many years. I have experience with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in trauma recovery, grief/bereavement, personality disorders, anxiety related disorders, mood disorders, relationship difficulties and obsessive-compulsive disorders. I’m a life-long learner and I support in a wholistic approach to mental health wellness. I also support that we are all much more than just the sum of our parts. I’m extensively trained in the psychodynamic, existential - humanistic, and cognitive behavioral schools of psychological thought.

People pleasing doesnt have to last forever. Before therapy, my clients avoid conflict, setting boundaries, and saying no. They feel guilty for having needs - underneath they feel like a burden, fear being unwanted, and never feel like they are enough. So they learned to "do more" by changing themselves into what they believed others wanted. Making people upset became the ultimate crime! Anticipating others needs and being "easy" was a way to avoid rejection. Guilt and anxiety began taking over their life. Little did they know that doing this actually made them feel like more of a robot than someone living living their life!
