As a certified EMDR therapist, I have specialized training in trauma.
There is a time to carry on, but there is a time to find a different way. You are tired of simply going through the motions of life. You find it hard to shake those feelings of worry and sadness. You feel overwhelmed by change and all the decisions in front of you. Your relationships feel hard and complicated. You provide so much for others at work and home that you don’t have anything left for yourself. I am a compassionate therapist who offers a warm and supportive space. I believe that personal growth is possible for everyone and that therapy is an effective strategy in that process.

I am a trained EMDR therapist.
I imagine you are tired of handling things on your own. You feel stuck within your life trying to manage rejection, conflict, or failure. Relationships feel uncertain. You give and give and receive little to nothing in return. While you think about making changes, you can become overwhelmed. As a result, you feel like giving up. But you haven’t. You have courage. And I admire you for it. So, take a deep breath and let’s talk.

EMDR is a structured therapy that supports and assist in encouraging a brief focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which associates with a reduction in the vividness and emotional impact associated with the trauma memories, resulting in desensitization and a shift is self-perspective.
The gift of therapy is an opportunity to feel different. Maybe to gain a felt sense of joy, peace and contentment. What does that mean? Many may have tried “talk therapy” alone. Although “talking” through life experiences can be helpful, it is often discovered that there is a felt sense to the issues that words cannot get through alone. Often resulting in not feeling better. The basis of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is that along with talk therapy it incorporates identifying where the feeling is physically located and more importantly, somatically felt. How the body is responding to the actual memory.

Utilizing somatic based therapies such as Brainspotting, EMDR , and mindfulness, I can help you recover from wounds that continue to be detrimental in your life.
So many of us have had to disconnect from ourselves to survive in some way, often due difficult experiences that overwhelmed our capacity to cope. As a result, you may be finding that the way you relate to yourself is negatively impacting how you show up in your life and relationships. Perhaps you find yourself engaging in patterns that are harming you despite efforts to stop—leaving you feeling stuck, broken, or out of control. I'm here to help you find new ways of relating to yourself and equip you with tools for coping more effectively. Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, we will work together to find healing.

Sessions may include explorative art making (even via Telehealth) while other sessions can consist of mindfulness, grounding, CBT/DBT skills, EMDR , or verbal processing.
Together we will work to achieve a sense of well-being and stabilization. Your current experience may be a response to the impact of the pandemic, build up of general stress, or sense of inability to cope. Treatable concerns include mood and relational difficulty, family dynamics, trauma, grief, poor relationship with food, low self-worth, self-injury, depression, anxiety, and compulsions. We are all worthy of self-love and fulfillment, but may have been hindered in some way in our lives to believe this to be true. If your path feels dark I am the flashlight that offers guidance, clarity, and support as you find your way through.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified EMDR practitioner and advocate of mindfulness.
I believe that the most powerful part of the therapeutic relationship is in the human connection. It is in this connection that the creative and dynamic process of change begins. I value each client's individual narrative and offer a peaceful environment to address aspects of life that may prevent you from recognizing your capacity for healing. Whether you are negotiating life losses, feelings of anxiety and depression or adjustment to life challenges, I see my role as compassionate listener and guide. I will quietly challenge you to move beyond negative patterns of thought. My approach while directive is holistic, and supportive.

EMDR Therapists
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
