Helping others is my nature and making a difference in someone’s life is my passion. I believe the best way to do that is to provide people the skills to help themselves grow through self-acceptance and personal development. I work with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, and life transitions. I am particularly interested in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I believe, “Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are.” - Brené Brown

Living with a mental health challenge like anxiety, depression, OCD, or an eating disorder can feel like carrying a boulder on your back 24/7. Of course, none of us would choose that— so it can be strange to think that it’s possible to choose something different through engaging in therapy. But the magic of neuroplasticity and therapeutic change can absolutely support you in finally setting that boulder down (or… maybe we can smash it into a million pieces together. )

Welcome! Whether you are looking to begin therapy after a life change or traumatic experience, or are just hoping to find a space where you can fully be yourself, I am so glad you are here. Being allowed to come alongside someone as they face deep hurt and vulnerability, to challenge and celebrate them, to laugh and cry with them, is such an honor for me. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing life transitions, trauma, grief, anxiety, OCD, or depression. I specifically enjoy working with women in the postpartum period and those looking to increase their ability to connect with others.

I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, substance misuse, life transitions and relational concerns.
"Do you see me? Do you hear me? Does what I say mean anything to you?" This is something Oprah Winfrey believes every person wants to know, and I couldn't agree more. I am so glad you're here. Reaching out for support can be hard sometimes. Being vulnerable enough to show up for ourselves and allow another person to witness that is a courageous thing. Whether you're here because someone suggested you try therapy, you've been in therapy for decades or you're somewhere in between, I'm ready to listen. And not only am I here to listen, I'm here to support and challenge you to do that hard thing or even finally face that fear.

I have a heart for working with children and young adults who are struggling with OCD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and life changes.
Do you struggle with fear, anxiety, worry or depression? Do you avoid situations because of difficult emotions? Does your anxiety and avoidance interfere with your quality of life? Or do you feel everything in your life needs to be perfect? I am passionate about helping individuals learn to thrive again by using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure-Response Prevention Therapy (ERP). I use an integrative approach to create a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment in which individuals can explore and grow.

Treatment for psychological disorders is better than ever. I specialize in offering new, evidence-based treatment options for OCD and related/co-occuring conditions that are more gentle and affirming than traditional approaches. How you experience OCD can be influenced by ADHD, Autism, racism, LGBTQ+ identity, trauma history, substance use and other contextual and identity factors. I'm here to listen with humility and acceptance (no thoughts are too shameful or taboo), make a thoughtful diagnosis, and gently guide you through science-backed treatment. Best of all, we can do it all from the comfort of home via videoconferencing.

As such, I offer empowerment-focused, skills-based therapy to motivated teens & adults facing anxiety in all its forms, insomnia, OCD, phobias, panic attacks, body-picking & pulling, depression, PTSD & other traumas.
You're unsettled, overwhelmed, burned out. Worst-case scenarios and defeating thoughts stop you from finding peace, and it seems like panic is becoming the norm. You avoid, distract, or argue with yourself to get some quiet, only for the process to start right back up, or worsen. You wonder, "Why can't I stop...(insert thoughts/emotions)? How come...(insert standard solution) isn't working? What's WRONG with me?!" You want to be the calm, capable, and in-control person you envision, you're just not sure where to start. But, healing IS possible and it's nearer than it seems. You've already taken the first step by considering therapy!

I specialize in OCD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and gender dysphoria/identity exploration.
It’s taken me a long time to write this because I desperately wanted my bio to communicate my heart for counseling, people, and the work that I do, but I also feel that words fall short when you’re trying to communicate something so intimate. First of all, you are brave for taking a step toward deeper healing, and I am honored that you might consider me as a support alongside you in your journey. Whether this is your first time seeking counseling or your 10th time, I hope to encourage and help empower you in your fight to become who you want to be. Whatever next step you decide to take, I hope the best for you.

I believe every patient should receive evidence based treatments which allow them the best opportunity at real and lasting recovery. This means I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure Therapy in treating OCD, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders and Eating disorders. This allows me to be a very hands on therapist. I regularly take clients out into the community to engage in exposure therapy and behavioral activation which allows me to provide support and encouragement throughout the process. I genuinely believe that OCD, anxiety, depression and eating disorders are very treatable conditions when being treated with effective and active treatments.

You may be experiencing "stuckness" in your life, feeling caught in thought loops that have left you overwhelmed, anxious, in pain, hopeless. Yet, something brought you here – somewhere within you is an action tendency to move toward healing, growth, and connection. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, OCD, trauma, or existential struggles over identity, relationships, loss, or life transitions, together through therapy, we can tap into that healing energy already within you, reframe and make space for painful experiences, reconstruct ways of moving through the world, and create space for movement toward what matters most to you.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
